I want to apologize if you came to the self serve stand and 1lb bottles were sold out. I will try to have 1lb bottles filled tonight and will put a few more bottles than I typically keep inside for Sunday. Sorry for the inconvenience and I appreciate your business.

There was some brand new changes to the self-serve honey stand that are undoubtedly noticeable!

There is now 3lb bottled honey along with a few candles that I continue to make. The new larger sized box will allow for more variety in products I hand craft. As this new year brings new ideas and products, I will update whats available and what is to come. The honey stand remains cash only and prices to items will be posted accordingly. Thank you for all your support and business!

As a commercial beekeeper with several properties that have or neighbor next to properties with horses and travels within farm/ranchlands, I remain vigilant to the surroundings and will continue to always make sure properties are safe, secure, and report anything out of the ordinary. I have always been on high alert for the potential criminal activities that arise more in the fall but itโ€™s mostly due to the thefts of beehives as out-of-state beekeepers seek our area for the season before sending/selling beehives for pollination contracts.

MCSO WARNS EQUINE COMMUNITY TO BE ON HIGH ALERT FOLLOWING HORSE THEFTS IN SURROUNDING COUNTIES

The Martin County Sheriffโ€™s Office is urging our equine community to remain on high alert after reports of horse thefts in Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.

Although we have not received any reports of horses being stolen in Martin County, we did get a suspicious incident report involving an individual trespassing and photographing a home with a horse barn. While we cannot officially connect these incidents, we want our robust equine community to be fully aware of what has occurred in our neighboring areas.

The Martin County Sheriffโ€™s Office has an Agricultural Unit that will be working to inform our local communities about these occurrences in hopes of preventing horse thefts here. We ask everyone to share this information and remain vigilant. For now, here is a few reminders for horse owners.

Please ensure that all gates, fencing, and barns are secure, and check regularly for any signs of tampering.

Keep recent photos and records of your horses, including microchip information and registrations, as this can aid law enforcement in the event of a theft.

Make sure your exterior security cameras are activated and recording, and always report any suspicious activity or vehicles immediately.

We encourage you to inform and collaborate with your equine neighbors to create a network of awareness regarding this issue.
