Today at the Freedom engine shop… a Scripps V-12 displacing 894 cubic inches (14.65 liters) generating 300 HP at 2,400 RPM.

This model 302 engine arrived at our shop as a literal bushel-basket rebuild— partially disassembled with assorted parts in boxes. Today it's back in running order and ready to go back in the 1940 Hacker-designed government patrol boat. We always enjoy a good challenge here at Freedom Boat Service.

We try to avoid surprises at Freedom Boat Service but sometimes structural issues reveal themselves during the course of a repair or restoration. In this case, the problem was unknown since the owner purchased the boat from a private party years ago. The boat’s owner stepped up to make the larger investment required to keep Cinnamon Girl in the family for future generations.

There are two morals to this story:
1) It’s often a good idea to have a boat evaluated by a knowledgeable professional prior to purchase.
2) Don’t cut corners. Fix it right the first time. It will always cost much more to fix it the next time.

New Listing: 1959 19' Sebino, one of the most highly regarded of the Italian boats "inspired" by Riva, very rare boat, great restoration, great condition.
