The SEAL Aviation team performing a service bulletin modification the requires inspection of the aileron leading edge for corrosion and the installation of additional drainage. Bombardier has released the following Service Bulletins for Learjet aircraft:

SB45-27-53 S/N 45-005 thru 45-200
SB45-27-54 S/N 45-201+
SB40-27-37 All Learjet 40
SB70-27-07 All Learjet 70
SB75-27-06 All Learjet 75

These service bulletins require inspection of the aileron leading edge for corrosion and the installation of a drainage modification to help prevent future corrosion. SEAL Aviation is uniquely qualified to perform this work through our comprehensive in-house Structural Repair, Fuel Tank Sealing, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) capabilities. To further minimize aircraft downtime, SEAL Aviation has acquired a set of donor ailerons that can be installed while your original ailerons undergo inspection, repair, and modification, allowing your aircraft to remain in service throughout the maintenance process.

This article also discusses emerging technologies in the aviation industry such as phased array testing. An excerpt from the article reads, "Bristol notes that, with more manufacturers using composite materials, the use of ultrasonic testing and phased array testing is becoming more common to find discontinuities such as cracks, delamination and disbonding." Overhauling a Piper PA-28 fuel tank. This Piper tank had leaking fasteners and required an overhaul. The SEAL Aviation Structural Team was able to repair the fasteners which allowed our Fuel Leak Repair Team to immediately reseal the tank. SEAL Aviation has reached another major milestone! Our team has performed 30 separate Bombardier CRJ700 40K landing inspections. The 40k landing inspection requires tight coordination between the MRO and the SEAL Aviation Fuel Maintenance and Non-destructive Testing Teams. This inspection encompasses eddy current, ultrasound and Phased Array NDT disciplines. SEAL Aviation combined services has the ability to perform all the required NDT inspections, has the manpower, and possesses the specialized equipment required to perform these inspections. Additionally, SEAL Aviation operates as a mobile company which allows us to assist with this inspection quickly, at any location in the world.

A SEAL Aviation Tech applying primer after repairing corrosion on a Challenger main entry door. The MED for CL-600-2B16 has the potential for corrosion due to deteriorating epoxy. Challenger SB 604-52-007 states that "It was determined that the epoxy ramp installed to prevent water accumulation could deteriorate with time and retain moisture." This Service Bulletin requires removal of the epoxy ramp and additional draining holes to be installed to allow access for scheduled inspections. SEAL Aviation has the ability to come to your location to repair any possible corrosion and perform this modification.

Citation X motive flow pump flush on the road. An AOG customer called SEAL Aviation to come to their location to perform a motive flow system pump flush procedure AMM 28-20-00 on a Citation 750. This procedure is required when the engine driven fuel pump internally becomes damaged depositing metal debris in the fuel system. This involves defueling the aircraft and temporarily bypassing numerous fuel system components to flush debris from the system. Once the fuel system is properly prepared, debris can be pumped from the affected fuel tank and lines. This process is then repeated until all the debris is cleared from the fuel system. Debris caught in the fuel system can lead to numerous issues such as clogged lines, filters and damage to sensitive system components, leading to costly repairs. Once the flush is complete, the fuel tank need to be inspected thoroughly and engine runs need to be preformed to ensure there are no leaks in the fuel system. SEAL Aviation is an industry leader in maintaining Citation aircraft fuel systems. Installing a lower wing skin on a Metro SA227-AC. The corrosion damage on the wing was so severe that the existing lower wing skin had to be replaced but a new skin was not available for purchase. SEAL Aviation Combined Services coordinated to fabricate the new wing skin while repairing corrosion and fuel leaks at the same time to meet a tight timeline for our customer. This is just one example of how the SEAL Aviation "one stop shop" concept can work to save our customers downtime and cost.
