Like many places in the world, the Fall Equinox marks a time of transition at The Bluff. Some birds, such as Bullock's orioles, use the equinoxes as a signal to begin migrating, as they sense a change in daylight hours. The monarch butterflies, Texas’ state insect, will also begin to migrate south for the winter.

Take a hike this Fall Equinox, September 22, and see if you can catch a glimpse of one of these travelers. Make sure to wish them luck on their journeys! 🦋

Monarch butterflies are on the move! 🦋 Their fall migration takes them south across North America, with many traveling hundreds or even thousands of miles to reach wintering grounds in Mexico and California.

This National Support Small Business Day-5/10, I’m extra thankful for the local coffee shops, plant nurseries, fitness studios/gyms, farmers markets, and family-owned spots that bring so much life and heart to our neighborhoods.

Nature reminds us to slow down, breathe deep, and appreciate the little things. Our small businesses do the same!
