AOG support doesn’t wait for business hours. Neither do we.

At 6:30 AM, PMX Aviation Services received a call for support on a Boeing 777X that needed to depart as soon as possible.

Within 30 minutes, a PMX mechanic was on site and working to get the aircraft back on schedule.

Before 9:00 AM, the aircraft was ready to depart.

The Gulfstream G650 earned its reputation for a reason.

One of its biggest strengths is what Gulfstream built it to do: combine long-range capability, speed, and a large-cabin experience in an aircraft that became a workhorse of business aviation.

From a maintenance perspective, though, an aircraft of this class also comes with complexity. More systems, more redundancy, and a higher level of technical support are part of keeping a large-cabin business jet dispatch-ready.

The good: range, performance, cabin comfort, and a proven platform.

The challenge: maintaining that capability means staying ahead of increasingly complex aircraft systems and maintenance requirements.

A good observation came up in the comments on one of our recent posts:

why was one of our trucks parked facing an aircraft?

In that particular situation, the hangar was full, so almost anywhere we parked would have put an aircraft in front of the vehicle. But the comment itself was a good reminder of something worth talking about.

Around aircraft, vehicle positioning matters. Whenever possible, vehicles should be parked in a way that reduces the risk of an unintended movement toward an aircraft. Parking orientation, clearance, securing the vehicle, and maintaining awareness of what’s around it are all small details that become important when you’re working around equipment worth millions of dollars.

We appreciate the person who pointed it out. Aviation is an industry where people should notice the small things, speak up, and be willing to have the conversation.

That attention to detail is part of what keeps a hangar safe.

A Global 6000 crew in Kona needed departure support, but there was one complication: they couldn’t tell us exactly when they would need it.

The date moved. The departure time stayed unconfirmed. A holiday complicated the rates. At one point, the crew even offered to cancel so our technician wouldn’t have to keep the day open.

We kept the communication clear, explained the costs before they had to ask, and stayed ready.

The final departure time came through the night before. Our technician was at the aircraft by 11:00 AM, and the aircraft was wheels up at 1:21 PM.

The part we appreciated most came the next morning: a thank-you from the crew, followed by another trip booking in the same email.

Not every support request starts with a clean schedule. Sometimes the real job is staying flexible while making sure the crew always knows where things stand.

That is what dependable AOG and departure support looks like across the islands.
