A phone call, an aircraft on the ground, and a team heading straight to the ramp.

This time, it was an Airbus A320. With weather moving through Honolulu and the aircraft between operations, the PMX team was called in to provide maintenance support on site.

Rain, tight timelines, and an active ramp are simply part of the working environment. The team worked through the reported issue, completed the required maintenance, and made sure everything was properly addressed.

Some aircraft maintenance jobs are as much about positioning and access as they are about the repair itself.

Here, the PMX crew is using a forklift mounted lifting beam and rated slings to safely control the load while working around the aircraft structure.

This kind of work takes careful planning, clear communication, and precise load control. Aircraft are not always sitting inside a hangar with perfect access, so the team has to adapt the equipment and the approach to the job in front of them.

Sometimes an AOG call starts with something as simple as a tire change.

A worn or damaged tire can keep an aircraft on the ground just as quickly as a much larger maintenance issue.

The job itself may be straightforward, but the timing usually isn’t. The right tire, jack, tooling, and technician all need to get to the aircraft, sometimes on short notice and in less-than-ideal ramp conditions.

That’s where mobile maintenance support comes in.

PMX technicians can respond directly to the aircraft, handle the tire change on the ramp, complete the required checks and paperwork, and help get the aircraft back into operation without turning a relatively small issue into a much longer delay.

Not every AOG is dramatic.
