SANDY'S!! 🌊 🌊 🌊 AKA "BREAK-NECK BEACH" locally known to Hawaiians as Wāwāmalu.

We are in knee to waist high shooting this stunning and world-famous stretch of white sand on the southeastern coast of Oʻahu.

The Vibe here is always outrageously "pono" and when the trade winds start dealing, you can expect 6 to 10ft swells with sets 4 to 5 seconds apart as the norm.

We love coming here when there is a high surf advisory ⚠️ The intensity and roar of each wave breaking on the shore gives a rush like no where else.

Sandy's is located along the breathtaking scenic costal Kalanianaʻole Highway, it's known for its local beach vibe culture and breathtaking sunrises.

But Sandy's is most famous for its powerful shorebreak and being one of the most dangerous beaches for injuries (spine, neck, and back) and having one of the highest rates of lifegaurd rescues not only in Hawaii but around the world.

The Infamous shorebreak is where she gets her nickname "Break-Neck Beach" or "Broke Neck Beach" because its massive waves break over shallow, hard-packed sand and underwater lava rock.

We don't recommend swimming. On this day, we took notice of a young Asian woman who was obviously here on vacation and unaware of the dangers of Sandy's surf and shorebreak make her way towards the water wearing "floaties" around her arms 🙄

She got no further than ankle deep when a rouge wave maybe 4 to 6 ft rose up from the surf just a few feet from her and wipe her out. She could not stand up due to the heavy rip and backwash and began to panic.

Thankfully some local braddahs were watching 👀 her closely because of the floatie devices she was wearing and sprang into Aloha action by grabbing her and keeping her from being swept out to sea while the lifegaurds sprinted to the scene 😃

Unless you are an exceptionally skilled, highly experienced bodysurfer or bodyboarder wearing fins, you should absolutely stay on the dry sand.

The locals will tellya that there are "safer beaches down da road" 🤣 ie: Waimanalo or Kailua.

Sandy's is the ultimate place on O'ahu to watch expert local "hammahs" bodyboard, bodysurf and teenagers with a deathwish tackle heavy barrels, a nasty rip current, and intense backwash.

The coastal views of the Ko'olau mountain range, Halona Blow Hole lookout, shore pound, and nearby lava rock formations make it an excellent backdrop for photography and videography.

It's ALWAYS a great day at Sandy's! ⛱️ 🌊

LA'IELOHELOHE BEACH, O'AHU ⛱️ 🌊 🌊

More Video footage of our recent excursion to Lā'ielohelohe beach aka Pounders beach in La'ie to brighten up the day. This footage was shot a few days before Hurricane Lala 🌞 ⛱️ 🌊

As its name suggests the shorebreak on the southeast part of this beach is heavy and is an excellent bodyboarding spot, but beware of those lava rock shoreline cliffs 😱

Even though the swells (managable 2 to 4ft with occasional 6ft depending on trade winds) and rip current aren't as heavy or strong as Sandy or Makapu'u beaches, or as epic as winter swells on North Shore or the Leeward (West) side, you better stand up and take notice 👀

Located on the northeast Windward (East) side of Oʻahu, La'ie is about an hour an a half ride from Waikiki that gives you a breathtaking trip through the Ko'olau mountains, and a long stretch of scenic coastal views as you pass about 15 beaches to reach this primo spot.

At anytime you can just pull over jump out and you're in the ocean. You also pass iconic spots such as Kauloa ranch and Chinaman's Hat 👒

When taking the longer more scenic route along Kalaniana'ole Highway through Kaneohe to hookup with Kamehameha Hwy you will pass the glorious iconic spots of Hanauma Bay, Lana'i lookout, Halona Beach Cove and Blowhole, Sandy Beach, Waimanalo and Kailua Beaches. Good luck resisting wanting to pull over every 100 yards to take in majestic vistas, shoot video or snap photos 🤣

Once you arrive and get settled in, just like every beach on this rock, La'ie has its own unique vibe and will leave you wanting more.

POUNDERS BEACH ⛱️ 🌊 What will we find at the end of this trail?

In light of the pounding we are currently taking by hurricane Lala we figured we'd post our recent excursion to Lā'ielohelohe beach aka Pounders beach to brighten up the day 🌞 ⛱️ 🌊

As its name suggests the shorebreak on the southeast part of this beach is heavy and is an excellent bodyboarding spot. Even though the swells and rip current aren't as heavy or strong as Sandy or Makapu'u beaches, they still make you stand up and pay attention.

At anytime you can just pull over jump out and you're in the ocean. You also pass iconic spots such as Kauloa ranch and Chinaman's Hat 👒

Like every beach on this rock it as its own unique offerings and will leave you wanting more.

🌈 WAIKĪKĪ RAINBOW from Ala Moana Beach Park

The famous quote by Mark Twain about the weather in "New England" located in the Northeast part of the United States "if you don't like the weather, wait a minute" can be applied to a few minutes of a little rain (sprinkle) in Hawai'i.

Yesterday, after a few minutes of sprinkles and a good laugh of watching tourists run for cover, we were blessed with this beautiful rainbow 🌈 reminding us of the spectacular natural beauty of this glorious island.
