Crews recently removed six spans of 46kV electrical cable from overhead poles between Puuhale Road and Kalihi Street.

The first video shows our contractor removing de‑energized high‑voltage overhead conductors.

The second video shows crews coiling the conductor onto a wire‑reel machine for safe handling.

New underground 46kV cables are installed and energized.

Mahalo to our contractors for their continued commitment to safety!

Check out a time lapse video and photos of the installation of a 138kV transmission pole.

Crews spent several days setting the pole on its foundation, assembling and bolting each section, installing hardware like insulators and davit arms, and tying in the overhead conductors. This work is part of an ongoing effort to relocate electrical utilities along the project corridor.

Stay tuned for more posts on our progress of the energization of electrical poles.
