Which Hawaiian island is right for you? 🌺

Saying ā€œI want to go to Hawaiiā€ is only the beginning of the planning conversation. Each island creates a different vacation, and the island your friend loved may not be the one that best fits you.

Some travelers prioritize beautiful beaches and resort time. Others want dramatic scenery, waterfalls, history, local food or active exploration.

The right choice also depends on:

🌓 Your preferred pace
🌊 How much beach time you want
🄾 Your interest in exploring
āœˆļø Available flights and trip length
šŸØ The resort experience you envision
🧳 Whether changing islands will add value—or simply add more travel

I’m Jeanine Cioffi, founder and custom travel advisor at Lavishly Travel and a recognized Hawaii travel advisor. My recommendations draw from firsthand island experience, years of client feedback and trusted professional resources.

I do not recommend an island simply because it is the most popular. I help determine which island, hotel and itinerary best fit the way you want to experience Hawaii.

What matters most to you in Hawaii: beaches, scenery, culture or adventure?

You may contact me believing you already know exactly where you want to go—and that is where our conversation begins. āœˆļø

A destination name does not always describe the experience you actually want.

You may say ā€œItalyā€ when what you really want is a relaxing coastal escape with beautiful views and memorable meals.

You may say ā€œCosta Ricaā€ while imagining a beachfront resort with volcanoes, wildlife and hot springs immediately nearby.

You may say ā€œMaldivesā€ when what you truly want is privacy, extraordinary water and a romantic overwater bungalow.

My job is to listen beyond the destination name.

I consider the atmosphere, pace, experiences, budget and priorities you describe. If your original destination fits, I will professionally plan it. If another destination would deliver the experience more successfully, I will explain why.

I’m Jeanine Cioffi, founder and custom travel advisor at Lavishly Travel. You are not hiring me simply to make reservations. You are hiring my experience, judgment, professional resources and honest guidance.

When your vacation is ready to leave the group chat, send me a message.

Where are you currently dreaming of going?

08/29/2026

Your best friend can help you dream about the trip—but that does not mean her favorite resort is the right one for you. āœˆļø

A resort can be beautiful, highly rated and perfect for someone else while still being completely wrong for the way you want to travel.

Your friend may love:

✨ A packed activity schedule
✨ A lively pool and nightlife
✨ A remote location
✨ Several restaurant choices
✨ A large, energetic resort

You may want quiet, privacy, easy beach access, a smaller property or enough unscheduled time to truly relax.

I do not ask only whether someone liked a resort. I consider who liked it, why they liked it and whether their expectations resemble yours.

So call your bestie, order the Spritz and start dreaming. Then call me to determine which destination, resort and experience actually fit you.

Where would you and your best friend go?

08/28/2026

You’re not asking for another packed itinerary. You’re asking for permission to finally exhale. 🌓

But the resort that feels restorative to one traveler may feel completely wrong to another.

Some people recharge with quiet mornings, privacy and uninterrupted time beside the water. Others want restaurants, entertainment and enough activity to stay engaged without feeling scheduled.

That is why I do not recommend a resort simply because it is beautiful or highly rated.

I listen to how you want the vacation to feel, then consider the destination, atmosphere, location, room category and overall pace before recommending the right fit.

I’m Jeanine Cioffi, founder and custom travel advisor at Lavishly Travel. I thoughtfully plan personalized resort vacations for clients throughout the United States.

If you are overdue for the kind of trip that actually lets you reset, send me a message with your travel window.

What helps you recharge: complete quiet or a little activity?

Costa Rica is not an island—and that matters when planning your vacation. šŸŒ‹

Many travelers imagine one resort where they can wake up near the beach, see Arenal Volcano, explore the rainforest, encounter wildlife, soak in natural hot springs and enjoy every adventure without traveling far.

Costa Rica does not work that way.

I have personally experienced both its inland and coastal regions, and they create very different vacations.

🌿 The inland experience offers rainforest, volcano scenery, wildlife, hot springs and adventure.

🌊 The coast provides beach time, water activities and a more relaxed rhythm.

🧳 A split stay can combine both—but every transfer uses part of the vacation.

The right choice depends on your priorities, available time and tolerance for changing hotels. The goal is not to include everything simply because it is possible. It is to create the balance that fits you.

I’m Jeanine Cioffi, founder and custom travel advisor at Lavishly Travel. I use firsthand experience to help clients understand Costa Rica’s geography, logistics and tradeoffs before designing their personalized journey.

Which would you choose: volcano and rainforest, beach—or both?

Why does your travel advisor keep traveling? Because firsthand experience changes the advice you receive. āœˆļø

The Trevi Fountain is one of Rome’s most recognizable landmarks—but experiencing Rome well requires more than knowing which sights to visit.

When I travel, I pay attention to the details that shape the entire journey: hotel locations, neighborhoods, transportation, terrain, realistic timing and how an itinerary actually feels once you are there.

After more than 30 trips to Europe, I know that a successful Italy vacation is not measured by how many landmarks you check off a list. It comes from choosing the right experiences, allowing enough time and creating a pace that fits the people taking the trip.

If you only had 3 days in Paris, what would actually be worth your time?

Probably less than you think.

Paris is one of those cities where it’s very easy to overplan. You can fill every hour with museums, monuments, reservations and timed tickets — and somehow leave feeling like you never really experienced Paris.

I’ve been to Paris myself, and as the founder of Lavishly Travel, I help travelers plan personalized trips through Paris and Europe with enough structure to make the most of their time — without turning the trip into a checklist.

If I had just 3 days in Paris, I’d prioritize something like this:

Day 1: Eiffel Tower area, a Seine River cruise, a neighborhood walk, cafƩ time and Paris after dark.

Day 2: Choose the museum or major landmark that matters most to you — maybe the Louvre or MusĆ©e d’Orsay — then spend the rest of the day exploring somewhere like Saint-Germain or Le Marais.

Day 3: One meaningful experience, time in Montmartre, great food, and room for something you didn’t know you wanted to do until you got there.

Because some of my favorite travel moments have nothing to do with checking another attraction off a list.

They’re the cafĆ© you stayed at longer than planned.

The street you turned down because it looked interesting.

The view you weren’t expecting.

The dinner that didn’t have to end because you were rushing to your next reservation.

A great Paris itinerary isn’t necessarily the one that fits the most into three days.

It’s the one that leaves you feeling like you actually experienced Paris.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I believe travel planning should start with the traveler — not with a generic list of must-sees.

If you only had three days in Paris, what would be non-negotiable for you: the Eiffel Tower, food, museums, neighborhoods, shopping… or simply wandering?

Save this if Paris is on your list, or send it to the person you’d take with you.

French Polynesia is more than Bora Bora.

Bora Bora is the island everyone recognizes — that perfect overwater bungalow over turquoise water. And sometimes it absolutely is the right answer.

But French Polynesia is so much more than one photo.

When I traveled there, I experienced Tahiti and Moorea in very different ways.

We swam with sharks and stingrays.

We rode ATVs into the mountains.

We learned how to make fresh flower leis.

We stayed in different styles of accommodations, from a beach bungalow to a private-pool garden bungalow, and we toured overwater bungalows too.

We watched Polynesian shows, enjoyed an island barbecue, and spent time simply taking in the water, the mountains, and the culture around us.

Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora do not offer the same experience.

One traveler may want the iconic overwater bungalow above all else.

Another may care more about adventure, snorkeling, food, culture, privacy, scenery, or a combination of all of it.

I’ve personally experienced Tahiti and Moorea, and I’ve planned many Bora Bora trips for clients, so one of the first questions I ask isn’t, ā€œWhich island is most famous?ā€

It’s: What do you actually want this trip to feel like?

Because sometimes Bora Bora is absolutely the right answer. And sometimes the best trip is a combination of islands that gives you much more than the photo you originally had in mind.

If you were planning French Polynesia, what would matter most to you — the overwater bungalow, turquoise water, adventure, culture, privacy, or a little bit of everything?
