Please be advised related to construction delays, we will be departing for our first Alfred trip at 7:20am, instead of 7:25am effective tomorrow, July 22, 2026. This better enables transfers with Access Allegany (Bus #5).

All other routes will remain as scheduled.

This route will resume it's normal time upon the completion of the construction.

Unfortunately related to multiple, unexpected issues with buses, our Dial-A-Ride service is not able to accommodate any further reservations this week. We also request if you have a reservation July 15 or July 16 between the hours 745am and 930am, to please call the office to confirm your trip. We may not be able to accommodate these rides related to these unexpected repair issues. This is temporary as we eagerly await the arrival of new buses this summer. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.

Due to the Governor issuing a State of Emergency regarding an expected significant snow and cold weather event, Hornell Area Transit will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026. Ensuring the safety of our passengers and drivers is of the utmost importance, and with that in mind, we are closing due to impending poor travel conditions. Unfortunately, we have to cancel the 4:20 run to Alfred on December 24, 2025 related to illness and driver shortage. We apologize for the inconvenience.

A friendly reminder that Hornell Area Transit will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025 in observance of the Christmas holiday. We will also be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026 in observance of the New Year's holiday.

Please be advised we are cancelling the 4:30 bus from Hornell to Bath beginning this Thursday, November 13, 2025 until further notice. We request riders make alternative arrangements and apologize for any inconvenience.

We have to cancel this scheduled route related to staffing and driver shortages we are currently experiencing. Unfortunately, this is not unique to HAT and is experienced by transit agencies across the country. This is a great opportunity to inform readers that we continue to seek drivers!

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a driver for Hornell Area Transit, please visit our website (http://www.hatrides.com) and download our application under the "View More" tab or stop in to the office at 132 Thacher Street. HAT is a great place to work that provides a great benefit to our community. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the HAT office will close for the remainder of the day. All fixed route bus services (to & from Alfred, Bath and Canisteo) as well as all pick ups WITH scheduled returns WILL occur as scheduled. However, any trips WITHOUT a scheduled return will need to be rescheduled for a later date. The office will close and is unable to receive calls until Monday morning. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
