This year’s winter has looked a lot different for us in comparison to last year in Utah. 🥲 There’s no snow in Arkansas for snowboarding, so we had to figure out a new hobby to keep us entertained on the weekends!

Horse racing has been an absolute BLAST. We had attended the horse racing a couple of times before hitting the road, but we never really took the time to understand what was going on or how extensive the betting could be. We’ve had lots of family and friends join us over the past few months and it has been the best time. 🐎

The food and drinks of Hot Springs deserves its own post. 😛 If you know us, you know we’re big foodies and cocktail connoisseurs. Big supporters of the eat local movement. 😉

We’ve had so much fun trying the local brews and picking out our favorite local restaurants! We gotta say, if you ask us to pick a #1, Rolando’s is always hard to beat!

Garvan Woodland Gardens, the botanical garden of the University of Arkansas! 🐗 This stunning venue puts on a gorgeous Christmas lights display every year. We highly recommend if you ever have a chance to go at Christmas time!

aaand…WE’RE BACK! The camper has truly never felt so much like home. As much as we appreciate our families for letting us crash the last couple of months while we got a plan together, we were so ready to get back into our own place. 😅

Let’s catch you guys up. We were previously living in Western Kentucky, and we flew out to California for a week-long vacation. Our plan had been to come back from vacation and head straight to North Carolina the next day. However, with less than 24 hours notice, we changed our course and headed back to our home state: Arkansas. 🥹

So, what changed our minds? Well, our journey home from vacation consisted of flight delays and very long layovers, which left us with a lot of time to think. Chase’s long-term career goals has always consisted of starting his own electrical business and working for himself, and we’ve spent all of 2024 trying to prepare for that. The more we’ve learned and prepared, the more excited he has been to get started. After a lot of thinking and discussing in the airport, we decided it was time. We surprised our families the next day by showing up unannounced, and we’ve been hard at work ever since with business licenses, paperwork, and branding!

Now what?! We aren’t ready to give up RV life just yet! We just loaded the camper back up and moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where Chase has landed his first job with his new business! We still plan to travel; it’s just going to be a little closer to home and look a little different moving forward.

Well, the cat is pretty much out of the bag. We have made our way back to Arkansas!

We have been MIA for a bit while we get our plans in order, but here’s a little life update: We went on vacation to the Pacific Coast for Labor Day with the intention of packing up our things and moving from Kentucky to North Carolina as soon as we got back. Our flight home got delayed, and we ended up spending nearly 24 hours getting through airports and flights. While waiting around in the airport for our flight home, we made the spontaneous decision to cancel our plans for North Carolina and head back to Arkansas.

We started this RV journey with the intention of doing it for a couple of years before settling in somewhere, and we are one and half years in. We have returned to our home state, but we aren’t ready to close the RV chapter just yet!
Chase has always dreamed of owning his own electrical business, and he has been so excited knowing that it is the next big leap in our lives. We decided to make our return a slow transition that involves more local travel around Arkansas as Chase begins working for himself.

The last month has consisted of studying, lots of paperwork, and catching up with family and friends we have missed over the course of our RV experience so far! We can’t wait for this next chapter, and are looking forward to taking you guys along with us as we see what our home state has to offer us!

First things first, we are currently on an airplane headed out for one more vacation to the Caribbean! As soon as we get back, it’s game time. 😎

Prayers for the Pendarvis family, Highland community, and all of our Spring River family are much appreciated as we lay our sweet Brooklynn to rest today. We are so grateful to have gotten to know Brooklynn over the last few years, and we will forever cherish the time we got to spend with her. These are days we wish we never had to experience, but we can get through today with a little more comfort knowing we will see her again. 🤍🕊️

In honor of it being Darby’s birthday month, we’re throwing it back to a year ago when we spent her birthday in Olympic National Park! Our first time hosting guests in the RV…Darby’s parents flew out to visit, and we had a great time exploring the park and seeing the Cowboys play Seattle in a pre-season game!

We woke up Sunday morning to some really nasty weather, but no problem there because we spent the day 150 feet underground! We took Cannon and Jadyn to their first National Park and hiked through the 2-hour Domes and Dripstones Tour. The humidity completely disappeared and the temperature dropped almost immediately as we weaved our way down into the caves. Mammoth Cave is the world’s largest cave system, and they still don’t even know where it ends!

We were all so exhausted from our weekend that we spent the rest of the evening watching movies in the camper while listening to the rain. 🌧️

We tried to cram as much of the Kentucky experience into 3 nights as we could while Chase’s brother Cannon and his girlfriend Jadyn were in town to visit this weekend! 😃

We got started as soon as they rolled in Friday evening and took them to their first Speakeasy! We had fancy drinks with egg whites and flaming pineapples.🥚🔥🍍🤣 After dinner, E-town just so happened to be hosting their annual car show. We were able to grab drinks and watch as the antique cars, muscle cars, and fancy trucks cruised downtown and did burnouts in the streets.

Saturday morning, we got started early with a 9 am tee time at Heartland Golf Club in E-town. We played 9 holes before grabbing a quick lunch and heading to our afternoon bourbon tour at James B. Beam Distilling Company! This distillery sits on 500 acres in Clermont, Kentucky. We got to learn about the history of their bourbon and how it’s made from beginning to end. We also got to try several of their bourbon lines throughout the tour! 🥃

After the tour, we headed to downtown Louisville for our dinner reservations at Nic & Norman’s (Norman Reedus and The Walking Dead fans will appreciate!!). We hopped through a few more places like O’Shea’s Irish Pub and Third Street Dive on our way to Fourth Street Live!, where we finished the night with UFC Fight Night at Sports and Social and dancing and mechanical bull riding at PBR! 🐂🥊🍺💃🏼
