Discover Oʻahu: The Island That Has It All

If you're planning a trip to Hawaiʻi and can only visit one island, Oʻahu offers the perfect blend of world-famous beaches, rich history, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable food. From the excitement of Waikīkī to the laid-back charm of the North Shore, there's something here for every type of traveler.

Start your adventure by soaking in the energy of Waikīkī before hiking to the summit of Diamond Head for panoramic views of Honolulu and the Pacific Ocean. Venture into the island's lush interior at Kualoa Ranch, where you'll find stunning mountain landscapes and filming locations from some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters. Continue your journey to the North Shore, stopping at the Dole Plantation along the way for a taste of Hawaiʻi's famous pineapple and family-friendly fun.

No visit to Oʻahu is complete without experiencing the island's incredible history. Reflect on the events of December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor, then explore Hawaiʻi's unique cultural heritage at the Bishop Museum and the magnificent ʻIolani Palace—the only official royal palace in the United States.

And then there's the food. Start your day with breakfast overlooking the beach at Duke's Waikīkī. Grab a local favorite from Zippy's, a beloved Hawaiʻi institution known for its comforting island-style meals. Finally, cool off after a day of exploring with the legendary shave ice from Matsumoto's on the North Shore—a sweet tradition that has delighted visitors and locals for generations.

Whether you're seeking adventure, history, culture, or simply a relaxing island escape, Oʻahu delivers unforgettable experiences around every corner. As your travel advisor, I'll help you discover the island beyond the guidebooks so you can experience the very best that paradise has to offer.

There's nothing quite like staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort, especially in a Park View room with a private balcony. From the comfort of your room, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of Cinderella Castle, Space Mountain, and the iconic nightly fireworks over Magic Kingdom—without ever leaving the resort. During the day, watch the famous Disney monorail glide directly through the heart of the hotel, a one-of-a-kind feature that has made the Contemporary a Disney icon since opening day in 1971.

Beyond the incredible views, the Contemporary offers one of the best locations at Walt Disney World. It's just a short walk to Magic Kingdom or a quick monorail ride to both the park and EPCOT. Whether you're relaxing on your balcony as the fireworks light up the sky or watching the monorail pass by below, a Park View room at Disney's Contemporary Resort delivers an unforgettable blend of nostalgia, convenience, and classic Disney magic.

✨ Hotel Spotlight: Renaissance Waverly Atlanta Hotel & Convention Center

Looking for the perfect place to stay for your next Atlanta getaway? The Renaissance Waverly Atlanta Hotel offers an unbeatable location just steps from The Battery Atlanta and Truist Park, making it a fantastic choice for Braves fans, concertgoers, and anyone looking to experience one of Atlanta's most vibrant entertainment districts.

One of my favorite features? Book a Ballpark View Room and, after cheering on a Braves victory, you can relax in the comfort of your room while enjoying the spectacular postgame or special holiday fireworks—no crowds, no rush, just an incredible view from your own window.

With great dining, shopping, live entertainment, and baseball all within walking distance, it's easy to see why this hotel is one of my top recommendations for an Atlanta stay.

Have you stayed at the Renaissance Waverly or caught a Braves game from The Battery? I'd love to hear about your experience in the comments!

This boutique hotel has a storied history before becoming the current hotel. Sitting directly across from the many bathhouses of Hot Springs, it is in an ideal location. Interestingly, it sits next to the famous Ohio Club, once patronized by infamous mobsters such as Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, and others. More interestingly, all of this is located within Hot Springs National Park! Such a cool place. Come soak in the thermal waters of Hot Springs! Want to know more? Hit me up at [email protected]. I love finding great brewpubs when I travel. in Vicksburg, Mississippi did not disappoint. Great beer selection, along with a full bar and a fantastic menu. The fried cauliflower appetizer was literally one of the best appetizers I have ever had! The staff were also incredible. This place is awesome!
