Hurricane Harvey-Update From Our President & CEO
On behalf of Gulf Stream Marine, I would like to extend my sincerest wishes for safety and well-being for all of you and your families, as you prepare to face the impacts of the storm, over the next few days. The effects of this hurricane will be very real for many of you in the direct path and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
I hope that, by now, your preparations are underway and I would like to remind you of a few things that will be helpful as the storm arrives.
Basic Preparedness Tips
• Know where to go. If you are ordered to evacuate, know the local hurricane evacuation route(s) to take and have a plan for where you can stay. Contact your local emergency management agency for more information.
• Put together a go-bag: disaster supply kit, including a flashlight, batteries, cash, first aid supplies, medications, and copies of your critical information if you need to evacuate
• If you are not in an area that is advised to evacuate and you decide to stay in your home, plan for adequate supplies in case you lose power and water for several days and you are not able to leave due to flooding or blocked roads.
• Make a family emergency communication plan for family outside of your area.
• Many communities have text or email alerting systems for emergency notifications. To find out what alerts are available in your area, search the Internet with your town, city, or county name and the word “alerts.”
As we all look to the other side of this storm, please stay in touch with your managers, should you have to leave your home. We want to know you’re okay.
If there are any updates you would like to provide to the company, directly or if there is anything that can be done to assist you, please text or e-mail [email protected]
Sincerely,
Kevin
