At the heart of every school is a community doing its best to make sure no child gets left behind. 💙

Our visit to Point Fortin R.C. School was an emotional reminder that the need for support is often much greater than we realise. Hearing directly from one of their teachers brought a different perspective to our Back to School Drive, one rooted in what educators witness and carry with them long after the school day ends.

Equip the Future is about meeting that need with dignity. It is about giving without judgement, supporting families through difficult seasons and helping children focus on what should matter most at their age: learning, growing and dreaming about who they want to become. 🎒📚

The gratitude shared with us that day was incredibly moving, but the privilege is ours to be able to help.

900 school packages, 20 schools and organizations, and communities across Central, East, South and West Trinidad visited. Those numbers only tell a small part of the story. 🎒💙

This year’s Back to School Drive carried a simple message: Equip the Future. Along the way, we were reminded of a reality many families are living every day. Parents are doing their best to stretch what they have between groceries, bills, transport and everything else a household needs.

We know that handing someone a school package doesn’t change that reality. If it means a parent has one less expense to worry about, or a child can begin school with the supplies they need without their family having to sacrifice something else, then it matters. 💙

There is still more to do. Our Back to School Drive continues with the goal of reaching more than 1,000 students across Trinidad and Tobago.

West side reminded us why Equip the Future needed to happen. 🎒🖍️

The reality is that for many families, back-to-school season can be stressful. When bills still need to be paid and groceries still need to be bought, finding money for books, stationery and school supplies can mean making difficult choices.

Our Projects Team spent the day delivering packages to four schools across the West, hoping to make at least one of those choices a little easier.

A bag filled with school supplies can mean a parent gets to breathe a little easier. It can mean a child walks into the classroom with what they need, without feeling like they have less than everyone else. 📚✏️

Day 3 took Equip the Future south! 🎒🚐💛

The packages were back on the road as we continued our journey across Trinidad, making four more stops and getting school essentials into the hands of communities preparing their students for the new school year. 📚✏️

This time, we visited Vance River Government Primary, Erin RC Primary, Point Fortin RC and Egypt Village Government Primary School. 📍✨

Every stop takes Equip the Future a little further, reaching more students and reminding us just how many communities can be impacted when people come together with a shared purpose.

The mission has changed. The work of supply continues. 🇹🇹

During World War II, this warehouse formed part of the U.S. naval base at Chaguaramas. Through that base, Trinidad and Tobago played an important strategic role in the Allied effort across the Caribbean.

Today, it is the Ramps Logistics Chaguaramas Supply Base, supporting offshore oil and gas as part of our regional network across Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela—a region of growing global importance.

From naval operations to offshore energy, the cargo is different. Trinidad and Tobago’s strategic importance endures.

Our geography gave us a place in history. Our people will define our place in the future.

That is the promise of Independence: to honour history, give it new purpose and build what comes next—together.

There is a vegetable stall on the Naparima–Mayaro Road. By day it is how a family eats. By night it is where thirteen people sleep.

Her name is Sabrina.

We were packing bags for our annual Back To School Drive when we came across her story. We were already heading to Mayaro, so we made one more stop.

We asked how things had been since the country learned her name. She told us about the people who called wanting to help. Then she told us about the rest… the comments, the names, the judgement that came with the kindness. One of the hardest chapters of her life, read aloud and graded by strangers.

That stayed with us.

It is easy to look at someone’s circumstances and ask how they got there. It takes something else to look at the person in front of you and ask, “How can I help?”

Sabrina is not asking to be rescued. She has been running that stall since 2014, and she runs it alone now. She talks about her daughters’ report cards the way any proud mother would.

A few school packages won’t change that overnight. But when her children walk through the gate in September, we want their notebooks to look like everyone else’s. Their pencils sharpened like everyone else’s. Their bags packed like everyone else’s.

Her story made the news, but most don’t. Every back-to-school season, the requests remind us that families across Trinidad and Tobago are quietly doing the math and coming up short.

To our 2026 Back To School Drive partners who moved fast when they heard her story, thank you.

This story isn’t one to judge; it’s one to show up in. Look around your own community this season, and when you find a family coming up short, be the one who makes up the difference.

Seven stops, hundreds of school supplies and so many young futures worth showing up for. 🎒💛

Our second day of Equip the Future took us across Central and East Trinidad, delivering back-to-school packages 🚐📚✨

This leg of the journey took us to Cunupia Government Primary School, Warrenville Presbyterian Primary School, Munroe Road Hindu School, Presentation College, Ryu Dan Dojo, Single Mothers Association, and Hands of Hope Foundation.

Every stop looked a little different, but the purpose stayed the same: helping students begin the new school year prepared, supported and ready to make the most of every opportunity ahead. ✏️🚀

Seven locations down, but Equip the Future still has a lot of ground to cover and we’re excited to keep moving. 💛
