β οΈ PTAG Member Update: Heads up to our members on the road, please review the upcoming construction and ramp restrictions below, plan your routes accordingly, and give yourself extra transit time.
Safety Tip: Work zones mean narrower lanes and sudden slowdowns. Increase your following distance to at least 7β8 seconds, stay alert for sudden merges near closed shoulders, and watch your speed through the counterflow shifts.
I-94 Closures: Porter & La Porte Counties.
* Ongoing Resurfacing (MM 29β34): WB traffic remains shifted into counterflow lanes on the EB side (two lanes open each way).
* Work Zone Extension (Begins ~Sept 8 for ~3 weeks): EB work extends 3 miles west to SR 49 (MM 27) for pipe installation. The EB right lane and both shoulders are closed; weigh scales remain accessible.
Weekend Ramp Closures: I-94 & U.S. 421 Interchange.
Ramps close Friday at 9:00 PM and reopen Monday at 5:00 AM (weather permitting). Partial access to and from U.S. 421 remains open both weekends.
