I never would have guessed I would start a reclamation service after purchasing a boat slip on Lake Conroe Texas. The slip came with an abandoned 22 foot sail boat. I learned about the structural and environmental hazards caused by abandoned boats and I learned how to legally remove vessels from private property. I started a company, Boat Reclamation Services.com, to assist home owners and marinas
in the legal reclamation of abandoned vessels. My company’s goal is to refurbish or recycle the vessels to avoid adding to our landfills. My first reclaimed abandoned pontoon boat was renovated by Mr. Ty Lindburg of Tex All Aluminum LLC in the Conroe area. Pictured is a 1997 Voyager 24 foot Pontoon boat. Ty started renovating by removing all the rotted deck and interior. The pontoons were acid washed and PSI tested for leaks. He replaced the deck with a stronger lighter alum deck and replaced all the surrounding bumper with 3/16 alum angle in place of the 22 gage channel. A new transom serviced the 115 Mercury outboard motor. Ty changed the layout to a fishing style boat with center console and fishing chairs on the bow.
