New MGO Supply Solution in Suriname 🚢

JL Supplies Suriname and UTC Overseas Suriname are launching a flexible Marine Gas Oil (MGO) supply solution from the J&L Terminal Shore Base in Paramaribo.

The service combines MGO supply, cargo handling, marine support, and logistics services to help offshore operators, PSVs, contractors, and other vessels reduce turnaround time and improve port-call efficiency.

With planned MGO transfer rates of up to 100 CBM/hour and 24/7 operations, this marks the first step toward a broader, integrated supply base solution for Suriname's offshore and maritime industry.

Moving heavy cargo takes more than a heavy vessel.

UTC Overseas delivered three full charter vessels carrying 14 ship blocks (43,809 FRT, heaviest at 824 MT) from Gdynia, Poland to St Nazaire, France for a major European shipyard.

Given harsh Baltic winter conditions, all vessels required ice-class deck carrier capability. UTC managed the project from its early stages in 2024, overseeing stowage and sea-fastening engineering to on-site coordination in Gdynia. Despite icing delays, all cargo arrived safely, ahead of the deadline.

UTC Overseas coordinated the road and ocean transport of three oversized TCP baskets, each measuring 57.4' L x 32.8' W x 8.2' H, totaling 200,000 lbs, from a manufacturing site in Northwest Houston to the Port of Houston for shipment to Guyana.

The road leg alone took months of prep. Route surveys, permits, and law enforcement coordination all had to come together to make it happen. At one point, the load cleared a guardrail by mere inches, requiring careful maneuvering and temporary route changes, and the removal of road signs to get through safely.

A police es**rt kept traffic moving smoothly the entire way. By the next morning, the cargo was loaded and ready to sail.

Cross-border collaboration in action!

UTC Peru and UTC Chile teamed up to move a major oversized cargo shipment. The teams handled transport of two superstructures and their truck chassis, models HT400 and HT401, totaling 311 tons and 7,500 CBM.

The job covered the full logistics chain from EXW warehouses in Callao to FOB Callao Port, using two 10-axis T4R10 modular units and two 160-ton cranes for safe lifting and transport. Daily coordination with the trucking company, port terminal, and maritime agent kept everything on schedule.

The final destination is Angamos, Chile, where the cargo will support mining operations, a great example of UTC Peru and UTC Chile working together across borders.
