Congratulations to the one and only Kambryn Burget and OH Boskafire - bringing home multiple year end awards at the West Michigan Arabian Horse Association banquet. We are immensely proud, and we are so happy to see Kam's success recognized and rewarded. She has earned this.

Kam is our "what else can I do"..."I will help"..."whatever you need"... "I will be here"... coachable...takes on extra responsibility...doesn't blink...eager-to-learn...always smiling...humble and kind...good grief, does she live here now... rider.

Hard ๐Ÿ‘work๐Ÿ‘ pays๐Ÿ‘ off๐Ÿ‘

We are also incredibly grateful to Paula Arendsen and Amelia Russo for trusting us with this special horse. It has been an absolute delight to watch "Tyler" and Kam connect, click, and excel. Thank you. A million times...thank you, for helping this girl's dreams come true!

And thank you WMAHA for giving us all the perfect opportunity to spiff up our old(ish), (sort of) semi-retired, beloved Arabian horses...to occasionally test our skills, in a beautiful show ring and fun atmosphere. We are already looking forward to the 2025 season!

Alright FB friends, we need a little help. We've tried. But we simply cannot decide. Is Miles cuter Hunt or Western? And before you try to choose based on the photos, we should tell you the WHOLE story!

This was Miles' first time showing in a big-boy (weighted) curb bit. We tried this bit on him a few years ago. It did not go well. So we switched to a lighter, more forgivable bit. And we switched it again. And we switched it again. And...seriously, I've lost count how many bits we've tried. The consensus at the start of the season was that he was all done showing Western. He had been ridden Hunt at home by several of our riders and had been SO much happier - light, responsive, confident. But as we prepared for this last show, Josie developed an idea. She decided to forgo her Hunt classes (to give our younger riders a chance to show her delightful mare, Ariel) but wanted to take Miles in a Western class. Josie had never ridden Miles, but their first ride went flawlessly. And somehow...probably due to the extreme heat we were experiencing...we got brave enough to try that big boy bit again on their second (and final practice) ride. Miles was as solid and seasoned as could be! AND it transferred in the ring. He marched around that show arena like he had been doing this for years. Miracle...or Josie's quiet, confident hands and soft reassuring voice telling him that he's a GOOD boy...we can't say for certain. Soooo...totally Western, right?

Welllll...then this thing happened today. Back at home. Just toting our darling little Emma like a dutiful little unicorn. Hunt. And now...we're stumped. Again.

We had begun to operate under the assumption the queen (and boss of all of us) was immortal. At the grand old age of 34, Pro's Blaza Glory had outlived every single member of the OG PineView herd and defied all reasonable expectations. But in true "Red" fashion - on her own terms, and in her own time frame... she let us know when she was ready to join those herdmates in the lushest, greenest pastures. And for heavens... she deserved nothing less.

This spicy red mare has taught so many riders to steer, perform evasive maneuvers, and respect a mare's opinion. Those lessons often came with an ample dose of humility and a massive trajectory for growth. Those who could match Red's level of sass fared far better than those who could not meet that mark.

In her long and VERY comfortable retirement, she taught us all to be better horsepeople. We learned what it actually means to be responsible for the health and well-being of an animal. We learned about the symbiosis of the contract - this mare that had spent the majority of her life in service to her humans, but depended upon her humans to keep her comfortable and happy...and for the love...get the ratio of pellets to grain JUST right! We learned to listen to what the horse is telling us - even when it breaks our hearts.

She somehow imparted all of these important life lessons with sweetness and affection. She was a snuggly bundle of the purest love and gratitude. She packed the most precious of tiny humans with the utmost care. She held us all to the highest standards.

She is beloved. She is revered. She is legendary. She will be long remembered and missed immensely. Especially by her owner, Betsi - who so graciously shared this special mare with so many, and allowed us the honor of taking care of her for much longer than we even knew to hope.

Run wild and free our sweet (and spicy) little Red.
