Here it is, Valentine’s Day is here…once again.

If you’ve experienced Valentine’s Day single like I have for my whole life, you’re not alone. Over the past few years I’ve done a lot of thinking about this day and how I can avoid feeling bitter about it. Every. Single. Year. Instagram is flooded with couples posting photos together, people dress up in pink and red, those around you in relationships get each other gives, flowers are passed around to what seems like everyone but you. We get it. It’s a day to celebrate everyone who has a significant other to celebrate.

Maybe you are like me where I dread this holiday every year and approach it with bitterness. But that’s no longer the case. I approach this day with excitement because I already have the best person I could ever dream of to spend my life with, and you do too.

Some exciting news here at Into the World! We're starting a new blog series that will take you behind the scenes of what it's like to start a church!

As I mentioned in our last post, I am moving to Idaho to start a church with a core group of individuals out there eager to share God's love. Not many people know what starting a church looks like so I thought it would be a great idea to start a blog series highlighting the "behind the scenes" of starting a church!

Hello friends 👋 it's been a while.

You may have been wondering where I have been the past few weeks and even months. A lot has happened for me personally and also will be happening for Into the World.

In our most recent blog post, I go into more detail about life and business updates (so totally check that out if you want more background). Basically, I just graduated college and will be moving to Idaho in a few months to be part of a church plant there! So exciting!

As for Into the World, I am in the process of figuring out where to take this platform. If you have any ideas of kinds of content you would love to see, let me know! I would love to know how I can help provide you with encouragement for your faith! 🤍

For now, I know for sure that I want to move away from focusing so heavily on product designs and launches (more about that in the blog post). That being said, we are having a huge discounted sale on our handmade products right now to clear our inventory! I love the time between Christmas and the New Year because there is a feeling of freshness in the air. I’m usually feeling motivated and thinking creatively of how I want to start the New Year.

If you don’t do this already, I strongly encourage you to take some time and write down your goals or intentions for the new year.

I will usually make my new years goals broad and then break them down more specifically month by month. For example, A health goal for the year might be to “eat healthier.” Then, each month I will make that more specific like “drink a half gallon of water every day” and then the next month might be “don’t eat any fast food.” This takes the pressure off new year’s resolutions and how daunting they might be. Doing this changes things up each month while still working toward your goal.

Also, finding a Bible verse or a word for the year is something I like to do too. It gets your head in the game!

I encourage you to give it a try!

I’ve recently been wishing I could go back in time, even a few months to appreciate what was happening more fully. I often feel that I don’t fully appreciate where God has me in life until that season has passed. Maybe you can relate.

I want to work on slowing down and taking time to thank God for what he has blessed me with in my current season of life before that moment has passed.

If God wanted us to have what the future holds and be thinking about that all the time, wouldn’t he have given that to you right now? His timing for those things in the future is not yet here. Appreciate the present. Take time to slow down and consider what you are most grateful for in this season of life.

I challenge you to sit still for 5 minutes. Put your phone somewhere across the room. Remove distractions. And sit in silence reflecting and thanking God for how he has blessed you in this current season of life.
