If you can help identify these ladies please do so by stating who and by row and count from left to right.

The names on the back are Cora Lindsey, Myrtle Selby, Anna Bandel, Rosa Brewster, Cora Selby, Be______ Mitchell, Anna Tiderman, Hulda Tiderman, Anna Shumate, Clara Tiderman, Rena or Reva Robertson, Florence Lindsey, Minnie Mitchell, Lucy Lindsey, F***y Reser. I am spelling them the way they are written on the back. A couple were not readable for sure. I wish they were in order, but they weren’t.

The stores here were built before the Bank Building went between them. What exist today, is Mallonee's store and the bank building, which are covered over with wood siding. Mallonee's store is someone's workshop and the bank still has it's vault in the northwest corner. The vault door no longer exist.

This Courthouse was built in 1860 after fire destroyed the first courthouse built about 1847. The first courthouse was described as a one and a half story building located at the southeast corner of the present square that was destroyed in 1852.
Another courthouse (pictured) was built and located south of the present day courthouse. It measured 40 feet by 42 feet and was a full two stories with hallway that divided the lower floor, which in the early days of its existence housed a school and courtrooms occupied the second floor. This structure was consumed by fire on January 8, 1881.

Downtown Galmey as it looked about 1900. Galmey is a trading-point, not surveyed as a town, situated near the Northeast corner of the Northwest fourth of the Northwest quarter of Section 9, Township 36 N, Range 22 W. The first business there was a blacksmith shop run by William T. Bennett, who now (1907), has a shop in Hermitage. A Post Office was established there in 1888 and Erasmus J. Kelley was the first postmaster. (--Wilson's History of Hickory County, pp. 56 - 57.)
