On Saturday, October 31 at noon, we're gathering at Broad Ripple Park for a festive 1.5–2 hour Halloween paddle.

Witches, wizards, ghosts, goblins, river weirdos, and wonderfully ordinary humans are all welcome! Come dressed in your witchiest gear, your spookiest costume, or whatever makes you feel like celebrating. All genders are welcome, and you don't need to know anyone beforehand. Come solo, bring your friends, or find your people on the river.

Have your own SUP, kayak, or canoe? Bring it along and join the fun at no charge!
Need a boat? Frank's Paddlesports Livery will have boats available to reserve and rent, so you can join the festivities even if you don't own your own watercraft. Be sure to reserve your rental in advance.

Expect fall colors, good company, creative costumes, and a little Halloween ridiculousness. No coven required — just a love of getting outside, meeting new people, and enjoying the river.

Bring your boat, rent a boat, bring a friend, or come make new ones. Just don't forget your paddle and properly fitted life jacket!

🌡️ A quick seasonal safety note: Late October weather and water temperatures can be chilly! Dress for the conditions and the possibility of getting wet, wear your life jacket throughout the paddle, and check the weather and river conditions before heading out. The event may be adjusted or canceled if conditions are unsafe.

Join us for our last canoe cleanup of the year on Saturday, Oct 24th. Our volunteers have done some incredible work this year! These are images from last weekend’s cleanup near Ravenswood. Another dumpster of trash has been removed from the river, but we’re heading further south for the next cleanup. We’ll be cleaning the stretch between Belmont Beach and the Fall Creek confluence.

After this final cleanup, we’ll be appreciating our volunteers by having a bonfire and cooking up some Yats Cajun creole, along with providing beverages. You won’t want to miss this one! We only have 30 spots available, so make sure to register today to secure your spot!!

CLOSED TODAY 🛶🌿

Our crew is cleaning up the White River in the Ravenswood area today. A river clean up and community on a Saturday morning - we're in.

We're back in full fall foliage paddle motion TOMORROW. Canoes, kayaks, and SUPs are ready, with shuttles running.

Fall might be the best-kept secret on the White River. The temps are milder, the trees are going gold, and the wildlife is out. Keep an eye out for great blue herons, turtles, deer, and even bald eagles.

The river's quieter, the views are better, and the afternoons are still plenty warm.

Fall season is short. Get out there while it's this good. 🍂
