Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings
4 boneless skinless chicken breast
1 can chicken broth
2 cans cream of chicken
sliced carrots
sliced celery
1/2 can peas
1/2 onion
crumbled bacon
parsley
garlic powder
salt and pepper
1 can flaky biscuits

Method

Place chicken breasts in bottom of crockpot

Pour chicken broth and both cream of chickens over it

Add in carrots, celery and onion. How much ever you prefer

Add in garlic powder, salt and pepper and parsley flakes over it, how much ever you prefer

Cook on high for 3 hours

Remove chicken and shred. Add the chicken back in with some crumbled bacon and the peas, stir together.

Break up the flaky biscuits, uncooked, and put in the crockpot. I break each roll in about 3 parts and just place them on top.

Remain cooking for another hour or so on high or until done. Enjoy!

"When there is an abundance of vessel capacity like this year, “The business is hyper competitive.” Not that long ago, shippers would negotiate rates with their freight forwarders a few times a year. Now there are weekly negotiations."

I talked to Eddie Rei, the President of Triumph Express Service Canada, about the freight forwarding industry and how it is changing. Eddie describes a freight forwarder as a “travel agent for freight.” Freight forwarders buy space wholesale from steamship lines and resell that space to shippers. Th…

"The battery-supported tricycle has a capacity of 1.5 cubic metres and can carry loads weighing up to 150 kilograms. Including the 250W battery, the cargo bike weighs 115 kilograms. Thanks to its compact design and width of just 1 meter, the bike is ideally suited for inner-city use."

"While the European economy flounders, the delivery companies are reaping certain benefits. In particular, a weak euro means their dollar investments go further. Additionally, businesses in the depressed southern European nations have been forced to look further afield for business, which often leads to more cross-border shipments."

In Europe, UPS and DHL are investing in hubs and warehouses, and FedEx is seeking approval for its acquisition of Dutch parcel-delivery company TNT as they jockey to take advantage of opportunities presented by the euro’s weakness and an increase in cross-border shipments.

Have you ever been stuck behind a truck and unsure whether to overtake it because your view of the road ahead is obscured? To overcome this potentially dangerous situation, Samsung has revealed its "Safety Truck," which allows you to ‘see-through’ the truck to the traffic ahead. The Safety Truck is…

“Most of the problems that the freight logistics industry will face in the next three years will boil down to capacity issues. Freight volume is expected to increase at a moderate rate, but capacity is not going to keep pace. The second half of 2015 is sure to be fraught with capacity issues and bottlenecks for most modes. Rates should rise faster in the second half of 2015 to cover the higher costs faced by carriers and needed investment.”

Some of this may sound familiar....

The numbers are in and 2014 was the “best year for the supply chain industry since the Great Recession.” Over the course of the year, the transportation sector grew by 3.6 percent. That that was due not thanks to higher rates, but to stronger shipment volumes. Nonetheless, the truck-driver shortage…

"There is a shortage of truck drivers in this country: according to the American Trucking Association, the US is in need of more than 35,000 drivers. There are many foreign workers coming over to fill those slots; some 16% of those behind the wheel are foreign-born. But the industry is having trouble attracting young workers, especially women: only 6% of truckers are female. It’s difficult to lead an active and healthy lifestyle when you live your life on the road."
