Visit https://FireworksInIndiana.com/ for the best and most complete listing of Fireworks Displays a Some say hobby, some say obsession. YOU decide!
What I do is collect up all the community fireworks display information that I can find, and stuff it in a database, and make it searchable by date, by city and by county. I've done this for over ten years (and over 500 displays) in Michigan, and now I'm doing it in Ohio and Indiana too.

Hi folks! I'm updating all the sites as fast as I can, but if I don't get your favorite display updated, it doesn't mean it isn't happening or I am ignoring you or I think you smell bad or whatever. It just means I couldn't find official information for this year or I found it but couldn't confirm it or I just plain ran out of time (we're doing our own fireworks party tonight). So please don't send me hate mail about how I'm slacking off or that *I* smell bad or how I'm ruining your entire year. IT'S NOT PERSONAL. I don't post on FB as much because the tool I used to help me manage multiple pages had like a 900% price increase this year. And FB is not good about showing me messages. But I'm still here. Happy Fourth of July!

2020 Fireworks & CoronaVirus/COVID-19 Update
Hi folks.
So this is what's up.
As of this writing (June, 2020) the country - heck, the entire world - has basically come to a standstill for the past three months because of the coronavirus. Every conceivable sporting event is questionable at best, or outright canceled. Groups or gatherings are still either advised against, or banned. A ton of festivals and fireworks events are already canceled, and I'm getting more notifications every day (you really have to order your fireworks display well in advance, and back in March, who knew what it would be like in July).
So - will there be fireworks displays this year in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Indiana or Missouri? Right now it's not looking good. And even if there are, if they all make their decisions around the same time (like in June) - well there's only one of me and about 4000 displays spread out over all eight states, so I won't get them all updated in time. (I just got out of two stays in the hospital non COVID-19 related - so I'm running late anyway)
So what I'm doing is this - I'm going to look through my news alerts and will post any events that I can easily confirm that are still happening with a strong caveat to CONTACT THE ORGANIZATION PUTTING ON THE EVENT to find out its status. Sometimes I'll have contact info, and if I do, I will post it. But if I don't, you're going to need to find it. I can't go sleuthing for all these displays myself when most or all of them are canceled. For this year only, the DEFAULT will be "canceled". I don't even know yet if all the cancellations will fit on the cancellations page. Please don't write me asking me to look up displays for you. If they're not listed here, that means I either couldn't confirm they're still going on, or else I found out they're flat out canceled. I'm sorry, but that's the year we've got right now.
Meantime, Hunter and I are going to use this as a rebuilding year, to overhaul the site, make it look prettier and function better, in hopes we'll all be back to normal (at least fireworks-wise) next year.
And oh yea, I gotta find a job or some clients too. What a year - amirite?
Meg

I’m Meg Geddes (netmeg), and FireworksInIndiana.com is my baby. Well, one of them.
I’ve always loved fireworks; from sparklers to big community boomers. I grew up with fireworks in Ann Arbor at Buhr Park, and then city airport, but at some point, we stopped having them. I don’t even remember why – I think maybe it was more the logistics than the money. Nobody wanted to deal with the hassles of traffic and cleanup.
Anyway, every year I’d be searching out where the closest fireworks were, and it got to the point where the people who knew of my interest would email or call, and from there it was a short hop to just putting up a quick and dirty web page to refer them to. The first version of this site was called detroitfireworks.com and included two listings – the big fireworks in Detroit, and the Ford Lake fireworks in Ypsilanti. Here’s an ancient version of it – it’s not the oldest one that exists, but it’s probably the oldest one that will actually load.
So after a while, people would not only ask me about the fireworks, but actually send me their local listings and ask if I’d put them up too. So with the help of a friend who had a lot more database and coding skills than I will ever have, we expanded the site. After a few years, we had a couple hundred displays, then 400, then 500. And I met my developer partner, Hunter on Twitter, and he helped me with all kinds of enhancements. And people bookmarked it, and emailed it to their friends, and posted events on Facebook, and well, here we are today.
I call it “Hobbies Gone Wild”
Seriously, this thing has taken off to a degree I never thought possible. Michiganders really love their fireworks and turns out Hoosiers do too! I can’t even count the hours I have spent on coding, writing, finding and verifying events, answering emails (more on that later), making corrections, hunting down people who scrape all my data without properly attributing, and so forth. (Yea, I’m a bit spiky about that last. Read about why here) But over the years, it’s probably thousands of hours. And some amount of expense too. All because I like things that go *boom*
Presumably you’re here because you like the *boom* too. I hope you find what you’re looking for, and if you don’t, I’d like to hear about it. I’m always up for feedback and constructive criticism.
