The Ready Brake can only be used on vehicles towed with all 4 wheels on the ground. Do not use with trailers or tow dollies.
The loaded weight of your towed vehicle must not exceed the weight rating of any component used in towing.
Allow clearance for the actuator arm to move toward the tow vehicle 3-1/2 inches. If there is not enough room a hitch extension can be used. The actuator arm will not move by hand, it takes 300 pounds of pressure to move it.
In the unlikely event the receiver on your tow vehicle is not deep enough for the Ready Brake to insert, 1 inch of the Ready Brake can be cut off to make it fit.
Never insert more than 6 inches of a towbar head into the Ready Brake or the actuator arm will be unable to move.
Use a locking hitch pin on all connection points to prevent theft or vandalism.
Drop and riser hitches create a level situation. If your towbar is 2 inches from level it is within tolerance and we do not recommend using a drop. If it is 4 inches from level, we recommend using a 2 inch drop to stay in tolerance. This creates less of a level and dragging issue.

Improved system for routing our surge braking cable (RB-013)!
The cable no longer needs to be routed through the firewall, which can be complicated for some vehicles. The cable now routes through the floorboard of your towed vehicle for a much cleaner install for any towed vehicle. This improved design now comes standard with any Ready Brake or either of the 2-in-1 towbars (Hercules-12K, Ready Brute Elite II-8K).

RB-4000 - Ready Brake

This system is compatible with any hitch-mounted towbar and virtually any towed vehicle. The Ready Brake is a surge brake and a mechanical solution. It provides instant and fully proportional braking to your towed vehicle. The Ready Brake does not rely on electronic components that may fail and will help you avoid the high cost and complications associated with other braking systems. Once installed, attaching and detaching the system is very fast and simple!

BCD-110 - Brake Circuit Disconnect

Each Brake Circuit Disconnect comes complete with 30 amp. relay, 4- 5 ft. 14 gauge leads and complete installation instructions with wiring schematic. The brake circuit disconnect may be used with any supplemental braking system that activates the towed vehicle brake pedal and uses its factory lights while towing instead of an external light bar or bulb and socket light kit.

Jeep, Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge - usually do not use the brake circuit disconnect, whereas it is common for use in Smart Cars, Hondas, Buicks and Toyotas.
Your brake lever might not have the brake switch on the top of the brake lever. If you don't have it, you don't need it!

The Break Away Kit will set and hold the brakes on your towed vehicle in the event it should ever become separated from your motorhome while in motion. The Ready Stop-Brake Away Kit (RS-5000) is easy to install, non-invasive and meets or exceeds all United States and Canadian requirements.

Occasionally, there are knockoff products of NSA on Amazon. We WILL NOT extend our lifetime warranty to these items made in China.

Keep in mind, a supplemental brake and breakaway device is required by law in many States and Provinces when towing a vehicle 4 wheels down.

Supplemental braking systems and breakaway devices are mandatory in 49 U.S. states and all Canadian provinces when flat towing (4-wheels down) a vehicle, as the "toad" is legally classified as a trailer. These systems, which activate the towed vehicle's brakes in sync with the RV, are required by law for vehicles usually weighing over 1,500 to 3,000 lbs.

Legal & Safety Requirements: Mandatory in almost all jurisdictions, these systems prevent the towed vehicle from pushing the coach during stops, reducing stopping distance and preventing jackknife accidents.

Breakaway Device: A critical safety component that automatically engages the towed vehicle's brakes if it separates from the motorhome, bringing it to a controlled stop.

Liability & Insurance: Operating without these systems can void insurance coverage in the event of an accident and may violate chassis manufacturer warranties.
