Taum Sauk Mountain, Missouri, is 0.4 mile walk through the woods with a 30 foot elevation gain to the reach the high point of 1,772 feet above sea level. Watch out for the rattle snakes along the way though. You never know when they might want to join your walk.

Mount Magazine-Signal Hill is the highest peak in Arkansas. The mountain is located in Mount Magazine State Park about 120 miles Northwest of Little Rock. Several trails ranging from 1.0 miles to 2.3 miles will lead you to the top of this 2,753 foot mountain. Though only views of the trees at the high point, a short drive down the road will lead you to gorgeous views of the Ozarks and surrounding land.

Driskill Mountain, Louisiana, is 535 feet above sea level and located on private property. You can either park by the church at the start of the road or drive up to the start of the trail if the gate is open. After a decent hike through the woods, you’ll reach the high point.

Alabama’s Highest Point, Cheaha State Park, is 2,407 feet above sea level. You can access this high point by buying a ticket at the bottom of the mountain and driving to the top. A campground is located across the road from the high point. Make sure to climb the tower.

Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia, is a fairly decent hike straight up a mountain. It’s a short hike, but very precipitous. This was Curt’s second time up the mountain. We spent the night in Helen, Georgia, a short drive away from Brasstown Bald. Helen is an adorable German town nestled in the Georgia mountains. Check it out during the Christmas season for the Christmas markets.
