📍 Canterbury Westgate Gardens, Canterbury, Kent, England

Westgate Gardens is a picturesque riverside park offering tranquil pathways, lush greenery, and a relaxing atmosphere ideal for unwinding.

Situated beside the historic Westgate Towers, the gardens are one of Canterbury’s most loved destinations for both residents and visitors.

Stretching along the River Stour, the gardens feature scenic waterside walks, vibrant floral displays, and historic highlights, including medieval towers and remains of Roman walls.

Burano, Italy is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy, near Torcello at the northern end of the lagoon, known for its lace work and brightly coloured homes. The primary economy is tourism.

I took this photo last week when our group was in Venice. The colors are so vibrant and fun. We ate lunch outside overlooking the beautiful buildings and enjoyed the hustle of the crowd as they passed by.

Right on the Passion Façade of the Sagrada Família, there’s a mysterious 4x4 number grid that many visitors walk past without realizing what they’re seeing.

At first glance, it looks like a random puzzle.

It’s actually one of Barcelona’s most fascinating hidden symbols.

This is the famous “magic square,” added by sculptor Josep Maria Subirachs in the 1980s as part of the Passion Façade.

Here’s what makes it special:

No matter which row, column, or major diagonal you add… the total is always 33.

And that number wasn’t chosen by accident.

33 is believed to represent the age of Jesus Christ at the time of his crucifixion.

In other words, this isn’t just math.
It’s symbolism carved in stone.

Even more interesting?
Traditional magic squares of this style usually total 34, but Subirachs deliberately altered the classic design (repeating some numbers and removing others) to make it equal 33 instead.

So Gaudí’s basilica hides a coded tribute to Christ’s final years… using mathematics.

It’s one of those brilliant Sagrada Família details that proves this place isn’t just architecture.

It’s theology, symbolism, art… and even numbers, all speaking at once.

Skellig Michael (Sceilg Mhichíl) off the coast of Country Kerry is a rugged island monastery founded in the 6th century and dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel.

It is part of a remarkable 2,600-mile line of alignment of seven sanctuaries dedicated to St. Michael, stretching from Ireland to Israel. Known as the “Sword of St. Michael,” Skellig is often described as its western tip.

Along this line are:
* Skellig Michael (Ireland)
* Michael's Mount (Cornwall, UK)
* Mont-Saint-Michel (Normandy, France)
* Sacra di San Michele (Piedmont, Italy)
* Sanctuary of Monte Sant'Angelo (Gargano, Italy)
* Monastery of St. Michael Panormitis (Symi, Greece)
* Stella Maris Monastery (Mount Carmel, Israel)

Not long after the time of Saint Patrick, monks made the arduous journey to this remote location drawn not by escape, but by a desire for prayer, learning, and a deeper encounter with God. Their stone beehive huts, perched high above the sea, still speak of a life shaped by silence, resilience, and devotion.

The name Skellig comes from the Irish sceilic, meaning “a splinter of stone”, a fitting description of its stark, jagged beauty, while Michael honors the Archangel so often associated with high and wild places.

In more recent years, this ancient place captured the imagination of a new generation when it appeared as Ahch-To in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

It remains sacred place, a thin space, where the veil between heaven and earth are thin.
