A memorial and final honors for DFW Airport Police Sgt. Charles “Alan” Works will be held Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church Decatur (1200 Preskitt Rd., Decatur, TX).

Sgt. Works passed away following an on-duty medical emergency. The service is intended for family, friends, and members of the first responder community. Local, regional, and state agencies are invited to attend or send representatives.

Sgt. Works’ passing is deeply felt by his family, the DFW Airport community, and law enforcement agencies across the region.

FOR AWARENESS: This Wednesday, Oct. 9, DFW Airport will be conducting a full-scale emergency exercise. The drill will include simulated emergency response activity on airport property between 8 a.m. and noon. If you see emergency vehicles or visible smoke from the exercise during that time, please be aware that this is just a simulation. There may also be increased traffic on W. Airfield Dr. during that time.
