We finished harvesting our Italian marroni one week ago and they are all sold. We also harvested some from the Nevada variety of chestnut tree that we grow as a pollinizer and most of those have been sold but we still have some available at www.chestnuts.us/order.htm We expect to sell out this coming week and look forward to next season.

We are almost finished with the harvest of marroni chestnuts and will update our website on 5:00pm Pacific this coming Friday to include the final inventory for this year.

We are presently taking orders for our Nevada variety of chestnuts on our website. This variety is grown as a pollinizer for our marroni. They have a harder shell than marroni.

We will probably sell out quickly and tentatively plan on offering them again on October 30th as harvest is winding down now.

Because of cooler than normal weather in the spring this year our crop is later than normal. Most crops in the area are two to three weeks later than normal but I don't think we're going to be that late. A small amount of chestnuts are not dropping and once our inventory is adequate to fulfill orders will will activate our order page at www.chestnuts.us/order.htm Please follow there for updates.

See UPDATE below. We have now finished harvesting and have shipped all orders. We do have some Italian marroni type chestnuts still on hand available for ordering. We do not have enough to list on our web site but have enough for several orders. If you are interested in ordering any, please email me using [email protected] and I will let you know what we have available at that time. Once you let me know what you want to order, I'll send you an invoice via PayPal (let me know if you prefer to use Zelle instead).

UPDATE: We have sold all of our various sizes of regular grade marroni type chestnuts.

I'll post here if we have anything else left to sell.

Our harvest is essentially complete. Yields are down significantly from last year.

Tomorrow at 8:00am Pacific we will offer the Medium size marroni for sale again at www.chestnuts.us/order.htm Since demand is much greater than supply, we will probably sell out quickly.

We have a very small quantity of the Large size and Extra Large size of marroni. We don't have enough to list on our order page as we don't have a means with our shopping cart to limit orders and would probably exceed our inventory in five minutes or so. If you would like to order some of these (5 pound minimum and 18 pound maximum per customer and limited to customers who have not already placed orders this year), please send us an email: [email protected] We will then send you an invoice via PayPal if we have inventory to fill your request. Please watch for emails closely and pay your invoice promptly.

We are not taking orders for Medium size via email, just the Extra Large and Large sizes. If you are willing to order either size, please state your preference such as "10 pounds of Extra Large, if available, or 10 pounds of Large".

This year's crop yields and sizes are smaller so we suggest you follow our page at www.chestnuts.us/order.htm closely for updates. We will sell out quicker and earlier than normal this year.

We updated the page last night to indicate that we will begin taking orders for the Large size at about 8am on Friday, October 14th. Last week we started selling the Medium size but temporarily sold out of those after about 20 hours. We will probably start selling more of those next week.

It's been very hot here on our farm with some record high temperatures (118.9F yesterday according to our weather station!). But it must be cool in some places as we have some people emailing us and asking about chestnut ordering.

Our web site was recently updated to indicate we probably will start taking orders for chestnuts around the first week of October. Please follow our web site at www.chestnuts.us for updates.

***SOLD OUT***
Around August each year our marroni trees bloom a second time but most of these flowers don't have time to mature adequately to justify harvesting. We again have a small supply of these this year, enough for a few orders.

These are sold only in quantities of 10 pounds at $7/pound plus shipping of $16 ($85 total).

Some have shells that are partially white and these don't always hold up as well in storage but should still be fine for a few weeks. Average size is Large to Extra Large (only sold in mixed sizes, as harvested).

If interested in purchasing an order of these, please email us at [email protected] and we will prepare in invoice via PayPal that will be sent to you by email. We will ship within a day of payment.

We are now sold out of all chestnuts and will be taking a couple of weeks off.

Last year we had some marroni which ripened late in the year from some secondary flowering that often takes place. If our worker is able to harvest any this year we will offer those after Thanksgiving. We will post a notice here if we have any of those available later.

Hello chestnut friends, our harvest season is essentially complete and our quality and yields were very good. Our Italian marroni chestnuts have sold at a record pace, even faster than the record pace set in 2020. We started selling the Large size of marroni about two weeks before offering other sizes and those are now sold out. We have had to suspend sales twice to allow us to keep up with orders and avoid over-selling. We sold out of the Medium size earlier today, these are the size with the lowest quantity harvested. We still have the Extra Large size available but even those have less than 30% left and may sell out this weekend so we wanted to give a "head's up" warning to our loyal followers here.

Prior to 2020 we have sent out email reminders to subscribers. However, our sales for the past two years have been at such a rapid pace that we have never established an adequate inventory to meet the rush of orders that come in when we send out an email so we have only used our Facebook posts (this is the second one) to help alert followers.
