On Tuesday night, the Jackson community gathered to recognize an amazing individual on his impressive airport career. Jim Elwood will be retiring from his position as Chief Executive Officer of the Jackson Hole Airport on July 3rd. Jim's influence on our industry has been felt well beyond Wyoming. During his career, including his time as the Chairman of the American Association of Airport Executives, Jim has had a positive impact on every airport in the United States as well as airports internationally. While we are sad to see Jim leave the industry, we are tremendously grateful for the opportunity to work with him during his time in Wyoming. We are happy that Jim and his bride Hille will be able to spend time with their children and grandchildren.

Last week, your Legislative Affairs Committee traveled to Washington for meetings with our Congressional delegation and key staff members from each office. We are grateful for the opportunity to talk about key priorities for our WY airports including DHS funding, aviation safety legislation, PFAS liability, small community air service, certified weather observer program reform, timely appropriations, and future airport infrastructure funding.

We also put our tourist hats on for a late night excursion to the White House for a West Wing tour.

Members of the Wyoming Airports Coalition (WAC), business leaders, State legislators, and State Aeronautics participated in a breakout session titled “Wyoming Without Commercial Air Service?” during the 2025 Governor’s Business Forum. Moderated by Devon Brubaker, the session was designed to encourage discussion among all in attendance, to emphasize the critical importance of air service in Wyoming, and from WAC, the need for support of the existing State air service programs.
