📢 Attention all truckers! There's a concerning scam circulating that could have devastating consequences for your business. 🆘 Brokers from load boards are asking for a copy of your CDL before accepting a load. 🚫

🚩 Let's get one thing straight: Reputable brokers won't ask you for your driver's license. If a broker makes this request, it's a RED FLAG! 🚩

The scheme goes like this: Scammers use your CDL copy to alter your MCS-150 information, taking over your DOT number. Once they gain control, they can engage in fraudulent activities like booking fake loads or double-brokering under your DOT number, leaving YOU with the liability.

Don't let this happen to you! If you fall victim to this scam, report the issue to your insurance company and the U.S. DOT via the National Consumer Complaint Database. Let's protect ourselves and our fellow truckers by sharing the news on social media and websites to expose these scam brokers. 👥🔍

⚠️Be careful in Hickory, NC

Hickory- The NC Highway Patrol is using artificial intelligence to identify distracted commercial truck drivers. State troopers say it's illegal for commercial truck drivers to hold a cell phone while driving a big rig.

Update: State troopers say the artificial intelligence is only being used on commercial trucks. They say unlike someone driving a car...state and federal law makes it illegal for commercial truck drivers to even hold a cell phone while driving. The equipment captures still images but does not discern whether or not the driver is actually texting. Without that information....they can't really use it on someone driving a car because holding a cell phone in a car is not illegal in NC.
