Tip 3 in our series - Tips for Keeping Your Pets Safe During Your Move - Discuss with your veterinarian whether to give your pet Benadryl or other medications to help with anxiety during the move and the drive. If your pet is prone to licking and chewing, you may want to have the “cone of shame” handy.

Tip #2 from our series - Tips for Keeping Your Pet Safe During Your Move - Double and triple check that hotels along your route are pet friendly and that your pet meets their requirements for weight, etc. Do not rely on the information on their website. One fan had their reservation declined by an independently owned national hotel chain that did not allow pets, even though the website stated it was pet-friendly.

A few years ago, we asked our clients and Facebook fans to share their favorite tips when preparing to move with their fur babies. Over the next few weeks, we will share their tips to help you prepare for your move. Tip #1 Purchase a travel roller bag specifically for your pet. Include in this your pet's shot and medical records, medications, favorite treats and food, blanket, water and food bowls, plastic bags, toys, and a bottle of water. One Facebook fan recommends keeping the bag in the back seat of your vehicle so you can easily reach anything you may need.
