I think it’s time for ALL OWNER/OPERATORS to form their own WORK UNION. Even though, highly unlikely. With a goal of making our position in the trucking industry to have a voice and power. I’m tired of everyone else having their hand in my pockets. It’s NOT just the government, with D.O.T., FMCSA, fuel taxes, road taxes, highway usage taxes, tolls (for roads that have all ready been paid for), & weigh station money grabs. It’s shippers, receivers, brokers, shops, mechanics, truckstops, Mega Carriers hauling CHEAP freight. EVERYTHING is a MONEY GRAB, and we get to keep what is left over, if any. 😡😡😡. We are never gonna get “company” drivers on board, because they answer to their employers. But!!! We, as O/O’s, theoretically speaking don’t answer to anybody, but ourselves.
