Dousman Transport Company was proud to join the School District of Jefferson for the Gemuetlichkeit Days Parade!

We loved seeing our students, families, teachers, administrators, and community members come together for such a fun Jefferson tradition.

A special thank you to our Dousman Jefferson team who came out to walk, represent our company, and help make the day extra special!

We’re proud to be part of this community and even prouder to help safely transport Jefferson students every school day. 🚌

🚌 Parents & Community, Help Us Teach Bus Safety

Keeping our students safe takes all of us, drivers, school staff, parents, and our community.

Please take a few minutes to talk with your children about an important rule:
Once you get off the bus, keep moving away from the bus. Do NOT go back.

🎒 Forgot your backpack?
🧥 Left your coat?
📱 Forgot something on your seat?

Leave it there. It will still be on the bus tomorrow.

Never run back toward the bus, knock on the door, reach underneath it, or try to retrieve something after the driver has closed the door and is preparing to leave.

When exiting the bus:
🚌 Take at least 10 GIANT steps away from the bus.
👀 Stay where the driver can see you.
🚫 Never walk behind the bus.
🎒 If you drop something near or underneath the bus, DO NOT pick it up. Tell an adult or the driver.

➡️ Once you have safely left the bus, do not come back toward it.
Our drivers are checking mirrors and watching carefully, but children can disappear into a bus's danger zone very quickly.

Please help us reinforce these rules at home. A few minutes spent talking about bus safety could make a lifelong difference.

See the bus. See the driver. Make sure the driver can see YOU.

🚌💛 A Few Friendly Bus Reminders for Our Jefferson Families! 💛🚌

A safe bus ride takes teamwork from our drivers, students, families, and schools.

As we continue settling into the school year, we’d appreciate families taking a few minutes to remind their students about good bus-riding habits.

Stay seated while the bus is moving, keep backpacks and belongings out of the aisle, pick up papers and personal items, use an appropriate voice level, and always treat your driver and fellow students with kindness and respect. ❤️

These may seem like little things, but they make a BIG difference.

When our drivers can focus on the road and our students help take care of their bus, everyone has a safer and more enjoyable ride.

Thank you, Jefferson families, for partnering with us and reinforcing these expectations at home.

A driver in Wisconsin got hit with a $767 fine after passing a school bus while its red lights were flashing and its stop arm was extended.

🚌 Jefferson Safety Meeting – September 🚌

Today the Jefferson crew came together for our monthly safety meeting! ❤️

One of today’s important topics was Wisconsin Act 88 & Act 89, including identifying grooming behaviors, maintaining professional boundaries, recognizing warning signs, and understanding our responsibility to help protect the students entrusted to our care.

Safety in school transportation is about so much more than safely driving a bus. Our drivers and aides see students every day. We build relationships, notice changes, and sometimes may be in a position to recognize when something just doesn’t seem right.
