Historic Jefferson Railway For refund of individual tickets, less a 10% refund service charge, cancellations must be made more than 3 days in advance. Group tickets are non-refundable.

Rain/Refund Policy

In case of inclement weather situations or mechanical issues where the train DOES NOT RUN (late runs and delayed starting do not apply), passengers may receive the calculated refund value in the form of an exchange voucher valid for future Historic Jefferson Railway events OR passengers may receive the calculated refund value in the form of cash, check or credit to credit card

depending on the form of payment that was used for the ticket(s) being refunded. Within 3 days, you will receive a 50% refund. There will be no refunds the day of the event. No portion of the ticket convenience fee will be refunded. Cancellations will not be honored unless you speak directly with a depot ticket agent or receive a direct reply to an email. We will not accept cancellations via phone messages or email for which you have not received a confirmed reply. It is your responsibility to follow up to be sure that we have received your message.

Great venison chili last night with side of pinto beans and all the fixings. You can register onsite for Diamond in the Rough this weekend. Plan to attend Meet and Greet on Friday evening at 5:30, followed by Tribute to America fireworks show including firing of five cannons with dramatic Dragon’s Breath. Diamond in the Rough Dual Sport Adventure Dirt Bike extravaganza is now here. We are seeing people arrive in Jefferson today! Beautiful weather so pack up and come on over. Once you register for Dual Sport/Adventure Ride, you will receive the routes via email with instructions for the GPS app.

Registration Fees: $75 weekend pass per each rider (dual/adventure/dirt). Saturday only is $40; Sunday only is $50 (includes breakfast). Just here to enjoy the weekend with no plans to ride? Fee is $30 for the weekend, per vehicle. Registration fee for the Saturday Poker Walk is $10. RV sites with water and electric are $45 per night, in addition to fees noted above.

Come out tomorrow and support Women of Jefferson Organization Salad Lunch. 11:00-1:00 at First Baptist Church, 523 N Polk, Jefferson, TX. Eat in or take out, until food is gone. You get five salads for $12. Here I am making the 1933 Study Club's Old-Fashioned Chicken Salad. The hardest part was peeling the d*mn eggs! Every man, woman and child needs to know their fractions to cook from recipes. I had to make the recipe x four. So what is 3/4 cup x 4? Historic Jefferson Railway

The Robert E Lee, our steam locomotive, is more than 50 years old. We will run the steam train for most special events and have commissioned an antique gas-powered locomotive, the Critter, into service for our regularly scheduled weekend tours. This train was built in 1964. The train ride takes you through the beautiful woods and wetlands along the Big Cypress Bayou and lasts about 40 minutes with a stop at the Diamond Don Gator Pit to see the feeding of the live alligators that live there.

The steam locomotive was built in 1964 for Six Guns Territory in Florida and moved to Jefferson in 1986. It is a Crown Metal reproduction of the 1870’s American Class 4-4-0 steam locomotive christened the Robert E. Lee and known as Engine #7. The open car coach seats still carry the custom medallions cast into them and designed especially for the Six Guns amusement park.

The Critter is a gas-powered Plymouth Locomotive. Plymouth locomotives were first built in 1910. Plymouth was one of the world’s most productive builders of small industrial locomotives. They built over 7,500 units of which 1,700 are believed to still be in active service.

The Railway has become a part of the thriving community of Jefferson sponsoring major events throughout the year that bring over 20,000 visitors to Jefferson. Patrons look forward all year to the Terror on the Bayou Runaway Fright Train and Halloween Festival, Rail of Lights Christmas & New Year’s Train, Diamond Don’s National Vintage Motocross, The Great Locomotive Chase and Route 49 Biker Rally.
