USDA and state animal health officials have recently reported New World Screwworm detections in the U.S., including Texas and New Mexico. Because this is a highly regulated animal health concern, livestock producers may be seeing more information about the disease and its potential impact.

Please note that Delta Livestock Diagnostics does not offer testing for New World Screwworm. Diagnostic testing and official confirmation are handled through designated national laboratories and animal health authorities.

If you suspect a case, contact your veterinarian, state animal health official, or USDA APHIS immediately for guidance.

Staying informed and working closely with animal health professionals are important steps in protecting livestock health.

📢 Holiday Closure Notice – Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Delta Livestock Diagnostics will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Please plan shipments accordingly and avoid sending samples that may arrive over the holiday weekend or on Memorial Day. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, May 26.

📅 Important Schedule Notes:

✔ Friday, May 22
• Pregnancy results will be reported as usual
• Last recommended arrival date for cattle, goat, and sheep biosecurity serology samples to be reported the following week

❌ Monday, May 25
• Lab closed
• No sample receiving

✔ Tuesday, May 26
• Normal operations resume
• Samples may be received

🐔 Poultry Results Update:
Due to the holiday schedule, poultry results will be reported on Monday, June 1.
