Apr 28-May 8 Mon I left Ellijay and headed to Nashville. Stopped at Ruby Falls in Chattanooga which was pretty cool, literally. Under ground cave with a 90' waterfall. Arrived in Nashville to meet up with tour guides Zack & Alexis. Off to Losers where Whiskey Jam use to dominate Mon nights there. We saw 4 of the 5 scheduled bands. Tue I took a ride up & down Broadway St and then over to Natchez Trace for awhile. Return ride thru Belle Mead and then off to Taco Tue at Las Palmas to meet past Rock Harbor marina neighbors, Charlotte Smith Hunter . $5 Rita's and 1/2 price tacos followed by a late night into overtime watching the MN Wild. Wed was an early lunch at Edley's BBQ with $5 Bushwackers. A planned Italian dinner at Coco's Market and 1/2 price wine Wed. Thu I watched and dodged the weather all the way to Asheville, NC to start the Blue Ridge Pkwy ride. Fri to my surprise most of the Pkwy in NC was closed due to damage from hurricane Helene. I did ride some very cool roads that paralleled the Pkwy up to Roanoke, VA.
Sat I literally had one eye on the weather again as I was riding some very curvy roads. The Blue Ridge Pkwy ended and the Skyline Drive started through the Shenandoah Valley. A lot of Overlooks, Mtn views and Valleys and not much traffic or turn-offs. I got to Front Royal just before it down poured. Sun I headed west towards Parkersburg, WV which was my halfway stop before Cincinnati. The WV Hwy's west through the Mtns were gorgeous! I felt like I was riding in the clouds but it was really only in the fog. Roads were a little damp in places from the night before or the early morning rain. Mon I made it to nephew Josh's resort in Cincinnati. A couple days of catching up and then Wed morning I was homebound. My adventures were coming to a close. I spent my last night in Davenport before making it to granddaughter's 5th grade choir concert at 2:50pm on Thu. The best way to end my adventure was to to give her a ride home from school.
