Apr 28-May 8 Mon I left Ellijay and headed to Nashville. Stopped at Ruby Falls in Chattanooga which was pretty cool, literally. Under ground cave with a 90' waterfall. Arrived in Nashville to meet up with tour guides Zack & Alexis. Off to Losers where Whiskey Jam use to dominate Mon nights there. We saw 4 of the 5 scheduled bands. Tue I took a ride up & down Broadway St and then over to Natchez Trace for awhile. Return ride thru Belle Mead and then off to Taco Tue at Las Palmas to meet past Rock Harbor marina neighbors, Charlotte Smith Hunter . $5 Rita's and 1/2 price tacos followed by a late night into overtime watching the MN Wild. Wed was an early lunch at Edley's BBQ with $5 Bushwackers. A planned Italian dinner at Coco's Market and 1/2 price wine Wed. Thu I watched and dodged the weather all the way to Asheville, NC to start the Blue Ridge Pkwy ride. Fri to my surprise most of the Pkwy in NC was closed due to damage from hurricane Helene. I did ride some very cool roads that paralleled the Pkwy up to Roanoke, VA.
Sat I literally had one eye on the weather again as I was riding some very curvy roads. The Blue Ridge Pkwy ended and the Skyline Drive started through the Shenandoah Valley. A lot of Overlooks, Mtn views and Valleys and not much traffic or turn-offs. I got to Front Royal just before it down poured. Sun I headed west towards Parkersburg, WV which was my halfway stop before Cincinnati. The WV Hwy's west through the Mtns were gorgeous! I felt like I was riding in the clouds but it was really only in the fog. Roads were a little damp in places from the night before or the early morning rain. Mon I made it to nephew Josh's resort in Cincinnati. A couple days of catching up and then Wed morning I was homebound. My adventures were coming to a close. I spent my last night in Davenport before making it to granddaughter's 5th grade choir concert at 2:50pm on Thu. The best way to end my adventure was to to give her a ride home from school.

Apr 18-28 Fri I arrived in Ellijay, GA at Fitz's house for an extended stay to help out. His house in NC was a total loss due to a mudslide caused by a hellacious rain event on Apr 8 and for some reason isn’t covered by his homeowners insurance policy. Sat morning we trucked up to his waterfall house in NC with a dump trailer to try and recover furniture plus whatever else that was still in one piece. My plan is to be here for more than a week helping out with the recovery before getting back on the road back to MN. Many more days of recovering stuff before next week when a large excavator shows up to dig out the mud, stack the logs up and hopefully save the house pieces from falling into the creek. All to assess if the original house is even save able.
The house pics are devasting enough.

A GoFundMe page was started to help in part with the recovery process. Please consider helping out in any way you can. Thx!

Apr 10-17 Thu walking Daytona Beach, Landshark Bar, Tiki Hut bar, then hopped on a e-scooter to tour downtown Kiki's Cigar, Boot Hill Saloon to name a couple. Fri I landed in Nocatee visiting Lee & Connie Wensole at their place. Fri night music at the clubhouse was great, a little recorded Master's golf and a lot of BS. Sat the tour continued at TPC Sawgrass with a golf cart ride around holes 16-18. Next Jax beach and then Riverside Grill for a great outdoor seafood dinner. File Fish and Shrimp baskets were our choices. Some competitive dice games to get the juices flowing then a little more Masters Golf to wrap up the evening. Sun back to the beach this time to Sawgrass private beach and a good ole filet mignon grilled dinner with of course an Incredible Master's golf finish. Mon morning Connie & Lee's work (workout) week started which I captured Lee's chair yoga but missed Connie's yoga and pickelball followed by Lee's poker night. Thx to both of them for their great hospitality and good stories as always! In the afternoon I landed at the Thunderbird Inn in Savanah. What a walkable town filled with music and great sites. Tue I took a ride out to Hilton Head but motorcycles arent allowed near Harbour Town so off to the beach for a little R&R. Back to downtown Savanah and the Olympic Cafe for their awesome gryo. Wed morning another short ride to Charleston, SC. A nice walk around Battery Park and along the seawall. A little e-bike ride around town and to Riley Park for a River Dogs BB game to close out the evening. Still getting my steps in even with all this e-stuff.

Mar 16-23 Sun, Frank & Danci drove from Ft Myers in time for a dinner at Porky's across the street. Mon started out with a walk on the 7 mile bridge. St Patty's celebration started at Key Colony Inn where HH food just $5 for Ahi Tuna, mozzarella stix, 14" homemade pizza plus green beer. A little stroll down to Havana Jacks for a car bomb, live music and a view of the Atlantic. Timing was perfect for a front row seat for the parade which didn't seem to last very long only to realize there was a large gap inbetween the the start and the back 3/4 of the parade. Tue was another walk on the bridge, our Putt-Putt Championship plus movie night. Wed morning started with another walk/bike ride on the bridge, followed by pickelball and kayaking to Castaways for their 1-4 pm HH. A little pool time afterwards then a delious homemade lasagna dinner thanks to Danci. Thu was our big day to Key West. Fri morning pickelball championships, then a short tour of Marlin Bay Resort/Marina followed by fish dinner back at Barnacle Barney's for sunset. Finally, we closed down the evening with one last game of Shanghai Rummy. Sat morning, Hwy 1 was all open due to the wild fires in the Everglades and south of Miami so Frank & Danci packed up and slowly headed towards home. Afternoon pool time and some steak bites in the common area while several neighbors coming back from a good day of fishing. Sun was a Starbucks morning, Par 3 Golf afternoon and a big neighborhood fish fry in the common area down by the marina.

Mar 9-15 Sun afternoon was a free concert in Key Colony at Sunset Beach. We got there at 4:02 and it was packed already with a couple hundred people. Later, our next guest arrived, Brian & Cindy plus 3 boxes of wine. After cracking one open we headed to Porky's for a front row dinner show. Mon was a great pool day after a healthy breakfast. Feb 22-28 Sat fishing was much better than the chilly start we attempted on Fri. Fri was just a boat ride down the Crystal River and then back. We only caught Red Tail but they made a very good surf & turf meal for all of us. Sun the temps for fishing were blue bill, perfect! We headed out about 5.5 miles and fished some channel spoil piles and caught a boat full of fish. Sea Trout, Black Drum and even Grouper. We ended our trip with a run up to Hunter Springs to see some sleeping, docile manatee up close and personal. That night another dinner cruise in the 1938 Chev to Swappies for some more good seafood.
Mon, we packed up and dealt with a little rain for about 1 hour then we drove out of it all the way to Englewood. BD dinner for Pat & Becky was a treat at Farlows on the Water Thanks to Romeo. Tue I started heading south to Cramer's in Cape Coral for Tue night bingo. What a Hoot! A lot of hurricane damage still visible due to Milton last Oct. Wed started road tripping down the Gulf coast through Fort Myers Beach to Homestead. Spent the night, then Thu I had only a short ride to Marathon, my destination for a month. A small change in plans and I was right back into the swing of things at Marlin Bay Resort and Marina, Big Thanks to Terry & Muggs from MN for staying poolside. Fri was just a pool day with J***y Live music for HH plus the arrival of a seafood truck selling crab legs. 8 #'s for my house guests when they do arrive. Weather is here, wish you were beautiful!

This was all for a great cause. I couldn't be more proud of all the volunteers and supporters for this Great Event!

Feb 16-21 Sun we left Ellijay, GA with a cool start but a rapid warm up. Ended the day in Tifton and 67 deg. Mon it got into the 70's the closer we got to Clearwater Beach. Mon Night was late after meeting up with Romeo, watching the sunset and playing pool. Tue was even nicer out, walking the beach to Tommie's Tiki Bar, followed by cigar bar with games, HH at Frenchy's and the Salt Cracker in the CWB marina. Smoked Fish dip, Gator and raw oysters to name a few HH items. Wed it was suppose to rain in the afternoon so after breakfast we tee'd it up at the Mt Putt Putt course only later to become victorious. Afterwards we were lured into Coco's Crush before it rained where we were on a advertising video for them to lured more people in. Check this video out:

Thu we headed closer to our fishing destination near Crystal River at Fitz's buddy Jim. Dinner and his motor home were ready for us for the next several nights. Fri we tried to fish with Captain Mike on FishBonz but the water had vacated the river and bay due to constant east winds for more than a day. We postponed fishing until Sat & Sun when things were suppose to settle down. Instead, we went sightseeing to the Gulf of America, cleaned up our bikes and then took the 1938 Chevy to dinner to the Blue Gator. What a treat! Later we watched the rest of The Wrong Missy movie and then hit the hay to get ready for fishing again in the morning.

Well it's time to get back on the road again. Fri, Feb 14 was a nice sunny Valentine's Day in Ellijay, GA for a shakedown ride through the Blue Ridge Mts. Every mile was very scenic with our first stop along a river with an old mill and waterfall. Wolf Mtn Vineyard was about as beautiful of a setting as it gets. Plus the wine was Internationally Gold Medal. Last stop before heading back was Iron Mt Resort recreational area which offered >4300 acres of off road riding, huge outdoor venue and pretty damn good HH. Later I helped setup Susan's VD present so she wouldn't miss it when she came home. Sat Feb 15 was our last prep day with a little Blue Ridge Chili Cookoff, Tipping Point Brewery and dinner at Chesters Brunnenmeyer's Bar & Grill. Tomorrow, southern GA and FL where the temps are in the 70's.
