✈️ Just this past weekend, on June 7, Delta Air Lines officially added a fourth daily flight between Kalamazoo (AZO) and Detroit (DTW), providing Southwest Michigan travelers with even more flexibility and connectivity.

The additional service reflects Delta's continued confidence in the Kalamazoo market and the strong support our community has shown for local air service. With four daily departures from AZO at 5:30 a.m., 11:42 a.m., 3:04 p.m., and 6:00 p.m., travelers now have more convenient options to connect through Delta's global hub in Detroit.

This added frequency improves access to destinations around the world, reduces the need to drive to other airports, and provides greater schedule flexibility during weather or maintenance disruptions.

Combined with the addition of United Airlines service later this year and larger aircraft from American Airlines, AZO is nearly back to pre-2020 seat capacity levels, creating more opportunities than ever for residents, businesses, and visitors across Southwest Michigan.

The success of additional air service starts with our community choosing to fly local. Every ticket purchased from AZO helps demonstrate demand and supports future growth opportunities for our region.

✈️ We were excited to welcome the first group of prospective students from across the country as part of Session 1 of 4 in the Western Michigan University Summer Camp Program!

Yesterday, our Deputy Director, Anton Bjorkman, gave students a behind the scenes look at airport operations, aviation careers, and the important role AZO plays in supporting our community. Students had the opportunity to learn about the equipment, people, and processes that keep our airport running safely and efficiently every day.

We are grateful for our partnership with and are proud to help introduce future students to aviation, Kalamazoo, and the many ways airports serve their communities. We look forward to welcoming the next groups throughout the summer! 💙✈️

Another special treat for you guys!

This Vietnam-era Bell UH-1 Huey helicopter, nicknamed “Greyhound,” is operated by the Michigan Flight Museum for civilian rides. The aircraft served in combat with the 240th Assault Helicopter Company in Vietnam until 1971.
The helicopter is widely recognized as the iconic workhorse of the Vietnam War.
