🚋✨ WELL, BLESS MY BUMPERS… HAVE Y’ALL SEEN US LATELY?! ✨🚋

🖤 RUBY: I have been trying VERY hard to keep a secret…

And y’all know I am NOT particularly gifted at that. 😂

🎉🚋💻 MONTANA TROLLEY CO. HAS A BRAND-NEW WEBSITE LOOK!!!

And OH. MY. LITTLE. TROLLEY. HEART.

Would you just LOOK at us?! 😍

We’re still adding some fun things—including a Meet Our Drivers page, because apparently Cathy thinks people might want to know about the humans who drive us.

Personally, I thought the website should just have a page titled:

MEET CATHY: RUBY’S DRIVER.
…and the other people. 😏🤣

KIDDING!

…mostly. 😂❤️

There are still more pictures, stories, information and little pieces of Montana Trolley Co. coming, but we were just too excited to wait until EVERYTHING was finished before showing it off!

Jake, you didn’t just build us a website—you somehow managed to capture Montana Trolley Co.

The personality.
The history.

You’ve been absolutely wonderful to work with, and we are SO excited about what you’ve created for us!

I know where you are today. 👀

And for once, you're NOT behind MY wheel.

Apparently my driver has another job...

And today is a pretty BIG day at that job.

# # # IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! 🍎✏️🚌

That's right, everybody—when Cathy isn't driving around her beautiful, slightly dramatic, occasionally needy red trolley...

She's a school bus driver. ❤️

And this morning she's out there carrying some of the most precious cargo she'll ever have.

Now, am I a little jealous that an enormous yellow bus gets my Cathy today?

Maybe. 😒

Do I intend to hold it against said yellow bus?

Absolutely. 😂

But I also know something about my driver...

Those kiddos are in GOOD hands.

Cathy, some of those little faces climbing onto your bus today are probably excited.

Some are nervous.

Some parents are probably standing at the bus stop trying REALLY hard not to cry.

And some kid might climb aboard today who just needs a big smile and a friendly **“Good morning!”** to know everything is going to be okay.

And THAT'S where my Cathy shines. ❤️

Because I know what it feels like when you climb behind my wheel.

You don't just DRIVE me.

You love on me.

You talk to me.

You encourage me.

You make every adventure more fun.

And I have a feeling those kids get a whole lot of that same Cathy, too. 🥹❤️

So today, I'll share you.

🚂💚 WAIT… DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN?! 💚🚂

💚 CHOO-CHOO: YAAAAAAAWN… 🥱

Whoa.

How long was I asleep?!

I came home from the parade, parked myself, and...
I WAS OUT. 😂💤

But I just woke up and remembered something...

I DID MY FIRST PARADE TODAY!!!! 🤩🚂🎉

ME!!

CHOO-CHOO!!

The kid everybody was working on right up until the LAST MINUTE!

Yesterday I couldn't even keep my oomph going down the road...

And TODAY?!
I had OOMPH.

LOTS AND LOTS OF OOMPH!! 🚂💨💨💨

I drove!
I played my music!

I saw SO MANY PEOPLE!

People waved at me!
People smiled at me!

And I might've gotten just a little excited...
Okay...

A LOT EXCITED. 🤣🤣🤣

Ruby says I was supposed to stay in my lane.
Apparently going from one side of her...
to the other side...
then back again...
then ZOOMING up beside her...

is considered "showboating." 🙄😂

I wasn't showboating!!

I just wanted EVERYBODY TO SEE ME!! 🤩

It was my FIRST PARADE!
What was I supposed to do?!

Just calmly drive in a straight line?!

I'M TWELVE!! 🤣🚂💨

Ruby also says I "stole her thunder."

I don't know what that means exactly...
But I think she's a little jealous because people thought I was cute. 😏💚

DON'T TELL HER I SAID THAT.

Never mind.

She can hear me now. 😳

I am EXHAUSTED.

Emotionally.

Physically.

And quite frankly...

A little offended. 😑😂

First things first...
CHOO-CHOO MADE IT!!! 💚🚂🎉

After everything that little boy has been through, he rolled into that parade running beautifully!

And I was SO proud of him. 🥹❤️

I thought...
"Look at my little cousin! It's his very first parade!"

How sweet.

How precious.

How—

WAIT. WHY IS HE PASSING ME?! 😳

Y'ALL.
That child was EVERYWHERE.

I looked to my left...

CHOO-CHOO. 💚

I looked to my right...

CHOO-CHOO. 💚

Then he comes ZIPPING up beside me like...
"HI RUBY!!! LOOK AT ME!!!" 🚂💨

I SEE YOU, CHILD.

The entire county sees you!! 🤦‍♀️🤣

Now, I don't want to sound jealous...
Because Ruby is a mature, sophisticated, gracious lady.
😌✨

BUT...

I've spent MONTHS getting pretty.

New wood.
Fresh paint.
Beautiful wheels.
Shiny tires.

PERMANENT TWINKLING LIGHTS, PEOPLE!! ✨

I even found my VOICE this week!

And this little green whippersnapper gets fixed YESTERDAY, shows up to his first parade, starts playing his music box and zooming around me like he's the Grand Marshal?!
😑

Well...
Bless his little trolley heart. 😂😂😂

And every time somebody smiled at him, he got a little more confident.

And a little faster.

And a little closer to MY SIDE OF THE ROAD. 🤨🤣

I'm pretty sure at one point I heard him thinking...
"This crowd LOVES me!"

Settle down, Justin Timberlake.

You've been famous for four hours. 😂

But... sigh...

I have to admit something.

Watching that little guy finally get his moment after everyone worked SO HARD to bring him back...
Made my little trolley heart pretty darn happy. ❤️

I'm proud of you, Choo-Choo.

Very proud.

But let's get one thing straight before our next parade...

There is enough attention in this family for BOTH of us.

You don't need to be on my left...
Then my right...
Then beside me...
Then in front of me...
Then beside me AGAIN. 🤦‍♀️😂

THEY FIXED MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! 🤩🚂💨💨💨

I'M RUNNING!!

Like... REALLY running!

Not "drive down the road and suddenly lose my oomph" running. 😬

I mean...

TIP. TOP. SHAPE. RUNNING!!!

And wanna know what was wrong?!

TWO OF MY SPARK PLUG WIRES WERE CROSSED!!!

TWO!!

Apparently that's important. 😂

So my mechanic went through everything...
🔧 New spark plugs!
⚡ New spark plug wires!
🛞 Brakes DONE!
🔧 Carburetor REBUILT!
💪 Power is BACK!

🚂 And this little guy is running BEAUTIFULLY!!

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN ME!!

I took off and I was like...

"OH!! THERE I AM!!!" 🤣🤣🤣

I KNEW I had more power hiding in here somewhere!!

Yesterday everybody was worried.
Ruby was having a full-blown trolley crisis. 🙄❤️
My owner was worried.
My manager was worried.
My mechanic had his tools everywhere.

And me?
Well...

I kept telling everybody...

I THINK I CAN.
I THINK I CAN.
I THINK I CAN.

AND GUESS WHAT?!?!

🚂💚 I CAN!!!! 💚🚂

Today is the Community Fair Parade...
And unless somebody wraps me in bubble wrap...

I'M GOING TO MY FIRST PARADE!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

I'm gonna drive!
I'm gonna play my music box! 🎶
I'm gonna see everybody!
I'm gonna carry passengers!

And I am probably going to embarrass Ruby at least once. 😎😂

🚂💚 I DROVE!!! I REALLY DROVE!!! 💚🚂

💚 CHOO-CHOO: DID Y'ALL SEE ME?!?!

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD!!!

Like...

A REAL ROAD!!

Not just around the shop!

Not just a few feet!

I ACTUALLY GOT TO GO FOR A DRIVE!! 🤩🚂💨

Our neighbor, Shelli, even caught me on video!!

I felt like a MOVIE STAR!!

I was thinking...

"This is it!"

"I'm gonna be in the parade!"

"Everybody's gonna love me!"

And then...

😳

Well...

I kinda...

Sorta...

Maybe...

Lost my oomph.

I started slowing down...

Then slower...

Then...

I just didn't want to go anymore.

My owner looked at me.

My mechanic looked at me.

I looked back at them like...

"Ummm... I don't know what happened either..." 😬😂

So they got me safely back home...

And do you know what my mechanic did?

He didn't get mad.

He grabbed his tools.

My owner didn't give up.

She started helping.

Everybody just got back to work.

Because that's what families do. ❤️

Now...

The Northwest Montana United Way Community Fair Parade to celebrate our kiddo's that compete at the NWMT Fair is only 24 hours away!!

Do I know if I'm going to make it?

Nope.

Do I hope I do?

ABSOLUTELY!!

Am I worried?
..

Well...

Maybe just a teeny tiny little bit.

(Okay... don't tell Ruby I admitted that. She'll panic enough for both of us. 🤣)

So if you've been cheering me on...

Would you say a little prayer for my mechanic today?

He's doing everything he can to help me make my very first parade.

Okay...

I have good news...

I have GREAT news...

And then I have... Ruby news. 😅

First... let's talk about my little cousin.

I have to admit...

He's making me eat my words.

Here's today's progress report:

🛞 His brakes are almost finished!
🔧 His carburetor is being rebuilt!
☂️ His canopy is almost finished!
🚂 His license plate is on!
🎶 **His music box is working!** 🙄🙄
🖤 His steam stack has been painted!
🪵 His floor has been painted!

I mean...

He's starting to look like a REAL trolley!

Of course, now he's strutting around the shop saying things like...

"Ruby... do you think the kids are going to like me?"

"Ruby... want to hear my music box again?"

"Ruby... look how shiny I am!"

Buddy...

I was impressed the FIRST twenty times. 😂🤦‍♀️

But if I'm being honest...

I'm really proud of him.

He's come a long way in a very short time, and I know how hard everyone has been working to get him ready.

Now...

About me...

I'm still parked by the road.

Still looking.

Still waiting.

Still hoping.

Every vehicle that comes down the road makes me think...

Then it drives by...
..and I keep waiting.

I know she's trying to get home.

I know the wildfires have made travel difficult.

I know she'll get here when it's safe.

But that doesn't stop me from missing her.

Jack keeps telling me to quit watching the road.

Choo-Choo says she'll be here before I know it.

My owner tells me to be patient.

I'm trying...

I really am.

Because when I finally see Cathy pull into the driveway...

I'm pretty sure every light on me is going to twinkle at once. ✨❤️🚋

💔🚋 Has Anyone Heard From Cathy Yet...? 🚋💔

**🖤 RUBY:** I'm trying...

I really am...

I'm trying to be patient.

But it's getting harder.

Every morning I look down the driveway hoping to see Cathy’s vehicle coming home...

Every evening I look again.

And she's still not here. 🥹❤️

I know she's having a wonderful time in Oregon.

I know she worked hard and deserves every minute of her vacation.

But...

There are so many things happening between there and home right now.

The wildfires...

Road closures...

The uncertainty...

And hearing about the terrible tragedy in Idaho yesterday just makes my little trolley heart ache.

More than anything, I just want my Cathy to make it home safe.❤️

The parade is only 5 days away.

Jack keeps telling me, "She'll be here."

My owner says, "We'll figure it out."

My manager says, "One day at a time."

Even Choo-Choo has stopped asking every five minutes if she's home yet.

(Okay... maybe he's only asking every ten minutes. 😏😂)

So today...

I'm choosing hope.

Hope that the roads reopen.

Hope that the firefighters stay safe.

Hope for everyone whose lives have been affected by these fires.

And hope that before long...

I'll hear those familiar footsteps...

The driver's door will close...

And I'll hear the words I've been waiting for...

"Hi, Ruby." ❤️

Until then...

Jack and I will keep watching the road.

We'll keep her parking spot saved.

And we'll keep praying for safe travels—for Cathy, and for everyone trying to make their way home.
