Last week, Kansas City International Airport Police participated in a two-day training over proper CPR and AED practices.

The program trains professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personnel take over.

At the end of the training, all participants were certified by the American Red Cross in the following skills:

Rapid Assessment
Giving Ventilations using a resuscitation mask
Using a Bag-Valve-Mask Resuscitator
CPR and AED use (single-rescuer, two rescuer, and multiple-rescuer team response with 4 rescuers)
Obstructed Airway Care

This training is part of the Kansas City Aviation Department's long-standing goal to ensure all staff are up to date on relevant skills and training to ensure travelers receive the best possible care and support when using Kansas City International Airport.

The Kansas City Aviation Department wanted to take a moment to celebrate the five college students that spent their summer learning from our staff and getting first had experience in the Aviation industry.

Kansas City International has an unexpected visitor today.

This Qatar Airways Airbus A350 from Doha was diverted here this afternoon due to weather in Chicago

Kansas City International plays a major role as a diversion destination for both the Chicago and Dallas areas and so always keep an eye out on the airfield, because you never know what you might see!

Coming to Kansas City International Airport to pick someone up? On the way up, stop at the new cell phone lot on Bern St.

The 167 stall lot has restroom facilities, EV charging stations and is a convenient drive from the terminal.

Don't spend your time waiting to pick up someone circling the terminal, park here and relax until the person has their bags and is ready to go!

Already dreaming about a warm weather get away this winter? You'll have another option starting in November!

Today Frontier announced a new non-stop flight to Orlando International Airport launching on November 20th.

The route will run four times a week and restores capacity on one of the routes that was reduced from Kansas City International Airport when Spirit Airlines shuttered earlier this year.

Kansas City International Airport (MCI) set a record Sunday!

The Airport had its busiest outbound travel day in the history of MCI.

24,266 travelers went through security screening yesterday, marking the first time the airport has ever crossed the 24,000 mark.

While dealing with this high-volume day, travelers only had average wait times of 2.5 minutes to reach the screening checkpoint. This could not have been accomplished without the hard work and coordination of the Airport's screening contractor, VMD, and TSA.
