It begins with a fascinating trip through Buenos Aires, taking in all of the highlights of this cosmopolitan mixing pot. From the tastes to the tango, the city will be unveiled through select cultural experiences. Next, head south for an Antarctic journey.

Setting sail, photograph massive albatross and beautiful pintado petrels as they swoop and soar, guiding the ship towards South Georgia. The beaches here are teeming with king penguins and elephant seals where famed explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton left his mark.

Antarctica awaits, with its soaring peaks and staggering expanse. Go further into the Antarctic sea on a Zodiac, experience the rugged peninsula from a sea kayak, undertake an exhilarating hike up a sparkling glacier, or share an endearingly comical moment with an inquisitive gentoo, chinstrap and Adélie penguin.

Following this expedition, and a night in Buenos Aires along the way, embark on an exhilarating journey through the diverse landscapes and rich cultural tapestry of Peru. Begin by heading out to explore the dynamic capital city of Lima, renowned for its culinary delights and historical treasures. From here venture to the ancient Inca capital of Cusco awaits, offering a gateway to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu.

What you’re witnessing here is one of the feeding strategies that humpback whales use. Teaming up with each other, these whales will dive under schools of fish or krill and blow bubbles. The bubbles function like walls that the fish won’t cross, turning them into an air “net”. When the whales lunge straight up from below with their mouths open, they get one huge, delicious mouthful of fish. The bubbles often taking the shape of a rising spiral, and it’s one of many incredible examples of how the fibonacci sequence naturally occurs in the wild.

Trying to put into words what it really feels like to find yourself in Antarctica is quite difficult. You’re always acutely aware of how close to the edge of the world you are, and the harsh remote environment never lets you forget it. The environment is alive and uninterrupted in spite of your presence, and its towering icy landscapes are great at making you feel extremely insignificant. We’ve yet to have a traveller embark on an Antarctic expedition without returning to tell us, without any ounce of regret, just how truly life-changing of an experience it was.

This trip takes in some of the most breathtaking sights in South America, exploring the various regions of Patagonia as well as the natural wonder that is Iguazu Falls.

You’ll begin in Santiago where you will have time to explore this vibrant city with a local guide before heading south to Puerto Natales, gateway to famed Patagonia. Whilst here you will spend an incredible few days exploring the region including the breathtaking Torres del Paine National Park.

No, this isn’t Europe. This slice of wonder is actually in Argentina, which although it has a healthy dose of European influence is also filled with its own Latin flair.

Awasi Mendoza waits for you at the foothills of the Andes, nestled in a 55 acre vineyard. Here a typical day for you could be a breakfast at a local ranch before a horseback ride through the Andes. Then, enjoying a delicious picnic lunch (with a view) and some homemade empanadas and regional wine upon return. In the evening, unwind in the spa, whirlpool bath or sauna before helping yourself to a tension-melting massage. Tempted yet?

Ecuador, as a destination, is massively underrated. Despite its wonders, it really flies below the radar. Those who have been lucky enough to visit are often grateful for this, because it makes for a truly off-the-beaten-path experience.

Ecuador is mega diverse, holding about 10% of all the plant and animal species on Earth, and this high concentration lends itself to genuinely unique wildlife sightings. This biodiversity is largely due to the country’s four regions: the Amazon, the Andes, the Coast, and the Galapagos. Most travellers visiting Ecuador do so with the Galapagos in mind, but this is truly just the tip of the Ecuador iceberg. Maybe it’s the metaphorical Ecuadorian iceberg that the Galapagos penguins are looking for?

The spirit of the Incas is alive and well in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Few places on Earth are so adept at drawing you in and demanding your total presence. Picture this: you’ve spent the morning exploring the Sacred Valley and trekking along its winding paths, stopping only to take in its incomparable views. Then, you return for a meal in the lush gardens of Rio Sagrado to enjoy a delicious picnic overlooking the Urubamba River. You’ll have your pick of dishes, such as bread with crackling pork (also known as pan con chicharrón in Spanish), stuffed potato, and salad made with vegetables picked fresh from the garden.

Situated conveniently between Machu Picchu and Cusco, Rio Sagrado makes for the perfect garden oasis to base yourself in while exploring the Sacred Valley. Its a true feast for the eyes, with views across the flowing river and with garden lawns where alpacas graze freely.
