JUST IN FROM LONDON:

Exhibit A: the Churchill War Rooms, where there were zero flushing toilets. Staff could climb up to ground level or take their chances with this chemical beauty.
Exhibit B: a pub that looked at a ch*****ne bucket and said “you know what, that’s a urinal now.” Swan tiles, hand-painted ribbon, a literal pail. Somehow the fanciest place I’ve ever been asked to aim.

From wartime buckets to cocktail-bar buckets, the Brits have been committed to the bit for 80 years. We rate both 5 flushes (one of them can’t actually flush).
