Hi Everyone !!!
This is Capt. Debora and I’m here to give you some tips and tricks !!!
Many people get surprised when they learn that the State of Florida required a boating license if you were born on or after January 01, 1988 to operate any vessel of 10hp or more. Also, 80 percent of recreational boat operators involved in fatal boating accidents have not taken any boater education course at all.
There’s no age requirement for this course and you don’t have to be a Florida resident to be able to get your boater education card.
This Boating Safety Course can be done online so here are two choices among all the ones you have.
Boat-Ed.com/florida/ website for a small price
BoatUS foundation website for free
The course time is estimated 4-8 hours
6 Lessons with 10 question quiz
The final exam is a 75 questions
And you can print your license right after you complete and pass the test.

Yesterday’s charter family, first came to me looking for docking and anchoring training. They have been boaters for over 40 years, very knowledgeable and experienced couple. Their knowledge ranged from 30-40’ boats but in their last size upgrade they felt uncertain about the handling of their new 55' boat. They were wondering if there was a better way to handle a 55’ boat more efficiently and more precisely as they had done with their previous boats.
Different size boats and engine models have different tendencies and torch. These small differences can take you far away from your confidence and comfort zone.
Wisely they looked for a professional training and did great on our class. Now they can take out their boat confidently after fine tuning their skills to match the boat upgrade of their new 55’ Azimut.
They’re very happy with their personalized class and our relationship and trust grown to they have me chartering for them every time they want to sit back and relax the day with friends. As I'm captaining for them, I still explain what I am doing and why, so they get the best of both worlds.
We’ll be doing more classes/cruising/day trips together in the near future.
I will post more of our next adventures soon.
