TRUCKER HAULING BEES STUNG HUNDREDS OF TIMES AFTER CRASH CAUSED BY TEENSβ IMPROPER LANE CHANGE, NORTH DAKOTA TROOPERS SAY
A truck driver hauling bee hives was reportedly stung hundreds of times after a crash that North Dakota troopers say was triggered by two teenagers making an improper lane change.
According to authorities, the crash happened when a vehicle occupied by two teens allegedly moved into the truckβs lane, causing the commercial vehicle hauling bees to wreck. The impact released large numbers of bees from the load, swarming the area and leaving the truck driver suffering hundreds of bee stings.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and treated the driver for the stings. Troopers say the teens involved were not seriously injured. The incident created a dangerous situation for first responders as loose bees surrounded the crash site while crews worked to secure the area.
The crash serves as another reminder of how quickly an unsafe lane change can turn into a serious incident, especially when commercial vehicles hauling specialized cargo are involved. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
