✨ Most people don’t know that when you stay at Casa Bella, you’re staying in a piece of Sonoma Valley history.
Long before Casa Bella became the retreat it is today, this land was part of the Los Guilicos land grant, awarded to John Wilson, brother-in-law of General Vallejo, in 1837. More than 75 years later, around 1914, Charles and Mary Monroe built the historic home as the town of Kenwood was just beginning to take shape.
Over the years, the property even counted descendants of John Muir among its owners. In 1998, Casa Bella was officially registered as a Sonoma County Historic Landmark.
Today, more than a century later, Casa Bella is still a place to slow down, gather, and make memories — surrounded by the vineyards, small-town charm, and natural beauty of Sonoma Valley.
