Today we used our Leica iCS50 to capture precise measurements for a new headsail on this beautiful Caliber 40. By digitally measuring the rig, we're able to verify dimensions with incredible accuracy before the sail is even built.

First fully digital, laser-scan/meadured, laser-cut cover. Though we've done a number of covers using technology (digitizing 3D, CAD Designed, and CNC cutting); this one uses our latest laser technology. Leica Geosystems

We recommend, installing the back section then trimming the engines down 15 degrees, to add tension. However, as you can see, the hornets nest at the engine trim-lock prohibited us doing that this time.

The Leica isn’t loving our hot Florida Keys sun 🌞🥵! It overheated during the demo (they said it had never happened before 😅) and has already overheated on us twice since then. Looks like we may need to buy a tent or shade setup to help keep it cool while patterning.

Anyone else using a Leica in a hot climate running into this issue, or is it just us down here in the Keys? 👀
