A customer recently reminded us that the lowest quote doesn't always mean the lowest cost and the shortest estimated timeline doesn't mean much if you can't plan around it.

After choosing another avionics shop based on a lower initial quote, his three-week project became eight weeks, and by the end, the total cost was nearly what Kubick had originally quoted.

But his biggest frustration wasn't the final bill... It was the lack of transparency along the way.

Aircraft projects can uncover unexpected findings. Plans can change. But you shouldn't be left wondering what's happening with your aircraft, your timeline, or your investment.

A panel transformation like this starts long before the aircraft enters the shop.

When the owner of this 1980 Piper Saratoga SP came to Kubick Aviation, they had already received estimates from several other shops and knew what they wanted from their upgrade.

Our job was to show them what working with Kubick could look like.

We built a detailed quote around their goals, created a mockup of the proposed panel, talked through the project over several conversations, and welcomed them to our facility to meet the team before they ever committed to the install.

Once they did, the communication didn’t stop.

Leading up to their scheduled slot, we continued working through questions, expectations and additions to the project. At drop-off, our team finalized the details with the owner, and throughout the installation, they received updates at least weekly.

If something was discovered or needed to change? It was presented for approval before we moved forward.

The goal isn't simply a beautiful finished panel. It's making sure the customer knows what's happening to their aircraft along the way.

And the finished product was quite the transformation:

We may be a day late for National Aviation Day, but around here, aviation isn’t exactly a one-day-a-year kind of thing. ✈️

It’s early mornings in the hangar and late nights chasing a squawk.
It’s the first flight after a project you’ve poured hours into.
It’s walking the grounds at Oshkosh and still stopping to look up every time something interesting flies overhead.

And sometimes, it’s watching an airplane light up the Wisconsin sky and remembering exactly why you got into this in the first place.

For the pilots, builders, mechanics, avionics techs, owners, dreamers, and the kids standing along the flight line thinking someday… this community is a pretty special one to be part of.
