Important Update from EAA Chapter 439: Young Eagles Event Cancelled

It is with a heavy heart that we must cancel this Saturday’s Young Eagles flight event. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected shortage of available volunteer pilots, we are unable to get flights in the air safely.

We are incredibly sorry to all the kids and families who were looking forward to this weekend. We share in your disappointment, and letting our community down is the last thing we want to do.

Please hang tight—this isn't the end of our season. We want to plan another Young Eagles flying day later this summer. We will share the new date as soon as it's locked in, and we can’t wait to get these kids up in the air soon.

It is with disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the Flour Drop and STOL Competition scheduled for Saturday, June 13, at Ford Airport.

Due to unforeseen circumstances and a shortage of volunteers necessary to safely and successfully host the event, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's competition.

We know many pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and community members were looking forward to this event, and we share in that disappointment. Events like these require a tremendous amount of planning and volunteer support, and unfortunately we are unable to move forward as planned.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ford Airport and the many Kubick Aviation team members who dedicated their time and effort toward planning and preparing for this event.
Their hard work and commitment are greatly appreciated.

While we will not be rescheduling the event at this time, we look forward to seeing everyone at Ford Airport Days in September for another opportunity to celebrate aviation and our local community.

Ford Airport Unveils Summer Art Exhibition Featuring Veteran Photographer Todd Witzman

Ford Airport is proud to announce the launch of our second "ART at IMT" exhibition, a community initiative dedicated to transforming our terminal into a rotating gallery of local talent.
This summer’s featured creator is Todd Witzman, a talented local photographer and Army Veteran whose striking imagery perfectly captures the spirit of exploration. His work will remain on public display inside the terminal building throughout the summer months.

The airport community and the general public are invited to view the gallery during normal operating hours. For those interested in purchasing original prints from the collection, pieces are available for sale. We were happy to host an inspiring group of fourth graders at Ford Airport this week. They got an up close view of our fire trucks, snow equipment, a CRJ landing, make paper airplanes, radio communications read aloud, meet a Caravan pilot, rides in the fire trucks, and lunch in the hangar! It was beautiful sunny and WARM day to inspire the next generation of aviators. Ford Airport IMT
