Did Grenada just dethrone Maui as my favorite vacation destination? 🌴

For years, Maui has held the top spot on my list of favorite places I've traveled. I honestly never thought another destination would come close.

And then we visited Grenada!

The beaches, mountains, food, sunsets, and especially the people made this island something really special.

We rented a car, explored beyond the resort, discovered some amazing restaurants, and had so many memorable experiences along the way.

So, has Grenada officially taken Maui's place? I'm not quite ready to make that call, but it's VERY close!

Over the next several weeks, I'll be sharing more about our trip, including where we stayed, our favorite restaurants, things to do, and some helpful tips for visiting this incredible island.

48 hours in Barbados. Sunsets, cocktails, and a little anniversary relaxation! 🥂🌴

Sometimes a vacation is about seeing and doing as much as possible. Other times, it's about slowing down, enjoying the view, and having absolutely nowhere you need to be.

Our two nights in Barbados were definitely the latter!

We spent our time enjoying beautiful ocean views, some pretty fantastic cocktails, incredible sunsets, and celebrating our anniversary.

I also loved the tropical landscaping at Tamarind and all the bird activity around the resort. I even spotted a Green-throated Carib hummingbird! The morning doves, on the other hand, were a little less charming. 😂

We didn't get to explore nearly as much of Barbados as I would have liked, so this is definitely an island I'd love to return to and experience more of.

But for a couple of days of relaxation before heading off to Grenada? It was exactly what we needed.

And speaking of Grenada...I have SO much to share about that island! It may have just taken over the number-one spot on my list of favorite vacation destinations. And considering Maui has held that title for years, that's saying something!

Slow Travel: See the World in a New Light

Anniversary lunch with a view! 🥂

While we were in Barbados, we celebrated our anniversary with lunch at QP Bistro, and WOW...what a setting!

The views were absolutely incredible, and the food was just as impressive. It's definitely one of those restaurants where you want to slow down, enjoy your meal, and take in the surroundings.

Now, was everything perfect? Not quite. Our server wasn't particularly attentive, which was disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber. But the food and atmosphere were absolutely highlights of our time in Barbados.

Would I recommend it? Yes! Especially if you're looking for a beautiful setting for a special occasion or a memorable meal while visiting the island.

One of my favorite parts of traveling is discovering places like this that I can personally recommend to my clients.

Our anniversary getaway started with two relaxing nights at Tamarind in Barbados!

I really enjoyed this resort! We had a fantastic room with a huge balcony overlooking the water, beautiful grounds, friendly bartenders, and some thoughtful anniversary touches, including a bottle of ch*****ne.

One of my favorite things was simply enjoying the gorgeous views and sunsets!

Now, would I recommend Tamarind to my clients? Absolutely, but with one important consideration.

The beach was practically nonexistent during our visit. So while I loved the resort itself, I wouldn't recommend it to someone whose number-one priority is spending their days on a beautiful sandy beach.

And that's one of the things I love about traveling and experiencing these properties myself. Sometimes the little details make all the difference when matching a client with the right vacation.

Barbados was our chance to relax before heading to Grenada, and what an incredible next stop that turned out to be! More on that soon!
