The odd-looking apparatus shown below was designed in 1976 for a special transportation project for the Honeywell Corporation. The project entailed cross-country movement of several gigantic mirror modules for an experimental solar tracking station at Largo, Florida.

Throwback to a time when special equipment modifications to accommodate unusual, one-time shipping requirements were the rule rather than the exception at Metler Hauling. In 1981, highway transportation of two 74-foot boats required extensive modification of four lowboy trailers.
