At Highway Transport, training matters — and sometimes it makes all the difference in the moment.

Recently, Freeport driver Pam Randol found herself dealing with an unfamiliar air pressure system during a delivery.

Pam quickly reached out to a trainer who had just completed the Workday training module covering that exact procedure and he was able to help guide her through it.

It’s a great real-world reminder that these training modules are more than routine assignments. They’re designed to prepare drivers for the procedures, safety concerns, and certifications that matter most when something unexpected happens on the job.

Even an NTTC Driver of the Year Finalist needs a quick refresher sometimes — and Pam’s story is a great example of why staying current matters.

Some people talk about teamwork. Others go out and prove it.

Baton Rouge Driver Manager Keiara Wilson did exactly that during Highway Transport’s 2nd Annual Peanut Butter Battle, collecting an incredible 6,652 ounces of peanut butter — the highest individual total in the entire company.

Keiara pulled together support from her family, friends, community, fellow Highway employees, and customers to help drive an amazing result for local food banks and families in need.

Her effort is a great example of what can happen when one person brings people together around a shared purpose.

Congratulations to Keiara on this outstanding accomplishment and for helping lead Team South to this year’s Peanut Butter Battle championship.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

At Highway Transport, we are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy because of their courage, dedication, and selflessness. As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, we remember those who gave everything for the generations that followed.

Please join us in congratulating Dennis Pheifer again on being named the Illinois Trucking Association’s February 2025 Driver of the Month.

Dennis was recognized at the ITA Safety & Maintenance Conference alongside Highway team members Candi Coate and Frank Zummo.

Since joining Highway Transport in 2013, Dennis has delivered the professionalism, reliability, and safety mindset that define our drivers every day.

Now continuing to support the team in a part-time role, he is also heading toward a well-earned retirement later this year.

Dennis, thank you for more than a decade of dedication and for representing Highway the right way.

What started as a fun competition turned into something much bigger at Highway Transport.

Our 2nd Annual Peanut Butter Battle brought teams across the company together for one shared purpose — helping local food banks and families in need. After collecting 13,558 ounces last year, Highway Transport raised an incredible 40,158 ounces of peanut butter, shattering expectations for 2026.

The South took this year’s title, followed by the North and Corporate, but the biggest win was the way employees across multiple locations came together to make a real difference. Every service center improved its total from last year, making this a true companywide effort fueled by teamwork, pride, and community involvement.

We’re grateful to our employees, drivers, families, customers, vendors, and communities who helped make this possible. Congratulations to everyone who helped turn friendly competition into meaningful impact.

Nothing beats learning the job the right way — side by side with an experienced teammate.

Cincinnati driver trainer Rob Sturgill has been out in the field working with new team members Carl Evans and Erick Peagler, walking through the pump-off process and sharing the kind of real-world knowledge that only comes from experience.

It’s a great example of how Highway Transport elevates driver training through mentorship, safety, and teamwork.

We’re grateful for leaders like Rob who help set the tone from day one.

It was a beautiful day for the Baton Rouge Junior League’s Touch-A-Truck event.

Families stopped by to explore our tanker truck, climb inside the cab, honk the horn, and learn more about the equipment our professional drivers use to safely move essential products across the country.

We’re proud of our service center team for representing Highway Transport so well and for taking time to make the day memorable for so many families.

Thank you to the Junior League for hosting such a fantastic event. We were glad to be part of it.

We were proud to celebrate Earth Day in Baton Rouge this year.

At Highway Transport, sustainability isn’t just about what happens on the road. It’s about showing up in our communities and taking part in events that bring people together to care for the places we all call home.

Safety Regional Manager Carl Joseph volunteered at the event and represented Highway alongside local partners and families for a day focused on learning, connection, and environmental awareness.

We support efforts like this across our network because sustainability starts locally and grows through people who are willing to get involved.

We’re proud to shine a spotlight on Perstorp Group and the strong partnership we’ve built together with Highway Transport.

During Perstorp’s Care 365 Week in Toledo, our team was honored to take part in an on-site Lunch & Learn centered on safety, education, and real-world tanker operations. By bringing trucks and trailers directly to the site, Perstorp employees had the chance to explore the equipment, observe unloading procedures, and hear directly from Highway drivers about best practices, visibility, and safety on the road.

This event was all about making safety personal — something both of our teams care deeply about. We’re grateful to the Perstorp Toledo team, for their partnership and engagement, and proud of our Highway team members who helped make the day such a success.
