Huge Congratulations to Heelyn Cabera for winning the 2026 North Texas Fair and Rodeo Pagent. This sweet young lady is the daughter of our very own Angel Cabrera and Cheyan Bland of Denton County. Angel is also an EMT in our 911 Division in Palo Pinto County. Heelyn is a legacy of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo; her mother has also won several awards. SCEMS loves and supports youth getting involved in agriculture and preserving the backbone of this country.

Together, we can support one of our own. ❤️

Please join us Saturday, Aug. 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palo Pinto Volunteer Fire Department for a community fundraiser benefiting First Responder Herstle Renfroe.

Herstle has spent years serving others — including eight years with Sacred Cross EMS and a combined decade of volunteer fire service in Palo Pinto County. Now, following the unimaginable loss of his wife, Alexis, and two children, Alekzander and Cody, our community has an opportunity to show up for him.

SUPPORTING ONE OF OUR OWN

Palo Pinto County ESD No. 1 and Sacred Cross EMS are coming together to support one of our first responders following the unimaginable tragedy in Parker County Monday night.

For the past eight years, he has served with Sacred Cross EMS, dedicating himself to caring for others and providing emergency medical services to the communities we serve.

Now, it is our turn to take care of one of our own.

Since news of this tragedy became public, we have received an overwhelming outpouring of concern from our community, fellow first responders and public safety agencies asking how they can help.

Sacred Cross EMS and Palo Pinto County ESD No. 1 are working with local media to establish an official benevolent fund to support him as he navigates the difficult days and months ahead.

We will share verified donation information as soon as arrangements are finalized. Until then, we ask those wishing to contribute to please wait for information shared through our official channels.

Our priority remains surrounding our first responder with the support he needs while protecting his privacy. We respectfully ask our community and members of the media to continue honoring that privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out, offered assistance and kept him in your thoughts and prayers.

When one of our own is hurting, we stand together.

It’s a heavy hearts that we post this. Last night one of our own had a life-changing event.
While he was serving others at work, his family had a house fire. His wife and two children have passed away.
He lost his home and all possessions.

We would like to welcome Drew Johnson back to our Krum division as the Operations Captain.
Drew started out with Sacred Cross EMS in 2023 in our Krum division. He shortly transferred to our 911 division.  He has logged over 780 calls with us. Giving our patients compassion, comfort and care that they’ve needed. 
He will work closely with other captains in this area.
We look forward to watching him grow in this new role.
